Wow! This exhibit is really phenomenal! As we entered, we were serenaded by the song “Vincent,” which is part of the soundtrack that continues to play as you weave your way through lighted screens featuring artwork and Van Gogh’s bio. They even include snippets of the letters Van Gogh wrote to his brother, Theo. At the end of this portion of the exhibit, you enter the immersive experience, and oh, what an experience! All the walls (and sometimes the floor) in the exhibit hall come alive with Van Gogh’s art. There are portraits, flowers, village landscapes and of course, stars! There are a few benches where guests can sit and watch the scenes change, as some artwork fades and new pictures take their place. Because seating is limited, some people choose to find a comfortable place on the floor while they take in the masterpieces. This really was a uniques experience, and I left with a greater appreciation for Van Gogh as an artist and a man. Please note, this is a limited engagement. Get your tickets while you can!

Read moreWhile this event was expensive it was very cool to see Monet’s paintings come to life! My only 2 complaints are 1. The prices are way too high. Especially for family’s wanting to enjoy this unique experience and 2. I really wish they had a drop ceiling to make the rooms darker. Which would in turn make the light from the paintings more vibrant and give everyone a better experience. After walking around and reading the blurbs about Claude Monet’s life and famous paintings, we walked into a room where all his paintings were projected on the walls and floor. But the room was not pitch black and lights from other rooms were coming through and ruining the overall experience. It was still so cool to see the paintings come to life and move but would have been 10X better if the room was actually dark and the paintings being projected on the walls were the only light. I appreciated that there were benches to sit and enjoy the paintings drove different angles. And the music was calming and perfect for sitting and thinking about each painting and what Monet was...
Read moreWhat a waste of time and money. For a pop up exhibit they couldn’t have picked a worse location. The convention center in Virginia Beach has vaulted ceilings so there was too much light pollution from adjacent events like the dance competition.
Being that this is a fully projected show, it’s imperative that the room is dark as night for the colors to pop of the paintings on the walls. It did not.
The event was underwhelming and disappointing to say the least. Big waste of money. The room was so crowded and small there were 4 benches total for 50+ people to sit and watch. Or maybe they expected people to walk around the room like cattle. 🐄 🐮 🐄
I think they could drastically improve the experience with offering more comfortable lounge spaces like sitting cushions or have blankets and pillows. Maybe encourage people to bring...
