I've been fortunate over the past 40 years to experience the close friendship and witness the talented craftsmanship of Tim Dooley at his Retro Den. Tim takes alot of pride in his work and it shows in the detail of his products. I owned a small business at one point detailing cars and boats and have experienced the joy of a job well done. It is much the same for Tim with the exception that his projects require a larger amount of imagination and creativity. I have viewed his work over those 40 years and have always admired the quality of his work but what absolutely blows me away is the trust his customers have in letting him work on family heirlooms. I'm a big saxophone fan so I'll focus on a saxophone he made a lamp out of. I saw it in stages and the project was absolutely awesome. Tim's greatest strength is his genuine and sincere personality . I recently purchased a vintage Lily lamp off FB Marketplace and it seemed to be overheating. Had a very hot smell when it was on and I never ran it more than a few minutes for that reason. Brought it to Tim and he took great care of it. Checked the wiring and assured me everything was good, which set my mind at ease, and recommended and provided LED bulbs instead of halogen. Turn around time was less than 24hrs, I picked it up the next day after dropping it off. It's beautiful and works perfectly now! I highly recommend Tim for your lamp work. I am a vintage collector/seller (@vintagevirginiabeach) and have been looking for someone who specializes in unique, vintage lighting for some time. I found Tim online and so happy I decided to have him fix my 1970’s Sonneman waterfall lamp.

I generally fix things myself, but was completely stumped on how to fix my floor lamp. I reached out to Tim and he promptly came by to pickup my lamp, gave me updates as he serviced the lamp, and even dropped it back off at my house again.
