I would have give 1 star for them but give 5 star for the store Manager Darrel. I bought a pair of sneaker in June 2022, my bad and it is my fault is I tried only my right feet when I was at store because at that time the 2 piece of shoes was tight together so it was hard to put 2 piece at the same time. Then I did not have chance to wear it since it is white color, work has been busy until yesterday was Sat 09/17 I took it out to wear with my jean, I cut the tag and wear it to go out. However, from my room to the door, I feel the left pinky toes so hurt, something inside. I checked and find out seems a small ball if thread or fabric inside the corner which can not be fixed easily. Therefore, today I went to Tjmaxx, did shopping and asked to return, shoes was clean new in the bag with receipt and tag . I understand policy 30 days returns and knew that I will get store credit only. When I get to cashier name Ivy M ( coordinator), she declined right away and showed me the policy return, she stated that the shoes is unsellable and used. I asked her several time why because shoes still the same as I bought and tag is there, why I can not even have a store credit. She kept saying No No sorry sorry and kept pointing out the policy on the wall for me. Her attitude was very personal like I was telling lie her. I just spend almost $100 to shop here and want to have credit for $23 shoes. I told her it is ok if they do not accept it. I was about to leave but looking at her attitude I feel like she was cheating on me so I asked to have Manager come to confirm, if the Manager said No then I will donate this pair of shoes no problem, just my bad and will need to learn experience from there. Darrel ( I think) the manager came out, he looked at receipt and tag and shoes, he said only store credit. I told him yes I know that but his agent told me I even have no store credit. He had to tell her to issue store credit. Her face and attitude was very annoyed to me. You can see the upset in her face. It was really a humiliation feeling for me to return the small items and met such that attitude, she make you feel like you are a big liar or a scammer try to steal the store $23. I still give 5 star because nothing wrong with the store and especially the Manager who tried his best to maintain customer services standard and one unwell trained agent should not make whole hard work of the others become 0. From my experience you should check all items within 30 days and make sure if they have any defect since buying do not take it otherwise you may end up for not being refunded or get credit with reason used...
Read moreINEPT TO THE MAXIMUM LEVEL!!! This particular TJ Maxx, located at Walnut, consistently hires the most incompetent and uncooperative cashiers. SEE PREVIOUS REVIEWS FROM UNSATISFIED SHOPPERS, AS THEY ARE SPOT-ON ADDRESSING THEIR UNIQUE EXPERIENCES. CLEARLY, THE STAFF AT THIS LOCATION HAS A MAJOR PROBLEM KEEPING BUYERS HAPPY!!! What is amusing is that this TJMaxx location is more than okay hiring BIGGEST ATTITUDE EMPLOYEES!!! With this type of poor customer service, it is no wonder why TJMaxx is struggling to retain high-spending shoppers. LOSING A BIGGER BUYER SEEMS TO HELP THEM SECURE THEIR JOBS.
LUCERO H., a young Hispanic girl in her late 20's (long black hair with bands and wearing plastic eyeglasses, 5'3-4"), is very good at WAISTING shopper's time. I've purchased orders online that exceeded $400, and some of them needed to be returned. Instead of recognizing that I was a bigger buyer, she would go through every single piece, flipping it from the inside out, from the original bags and tags. As if that wasn't enough, she needed to keep asking what was wrong with the item?!? If a customer chooses to return items that are intact and brand new, and the receipt is self-explanatory, what justifies her excuse of burning shopper for more than 15 minutes on a simple return? To make matters worse, when she needed to ask her superior about a mistake made by TJMAxx (an older Hispanic woman in her late 50's light-brown curly hair with her updo, SHE IS ALWAYS IN THIS STORE during weekdays), both women refused to resolve the problem, rather shoving shoppers to another store to handle the issue. Mistakes made by TJMAxx staff occur more often than they would like to admit and correct; it is not unusual for them to struggle with the simplest task.
Due to their aggravating approach and long-awaited handling, I gladly declined to make my new purchases, rounding $300 worth of goods sitting in my shopping cart. Not surprisingly, Lucero was 'genuinely shocked' by the refusal, acting as if her previous action were...
Read moreI have been shopping at TJ Maxx in the area for almost 15 years, and I must agree that this particular location has the lousiest employees, and the situation seems to be getting worse by the day. From the previous review regarding Lucero, it is not her first time rejecting a return from a mistake made by TJ Maxx. Instead of calling the manager to resolve the issue, she will take action into her own hands, relying on her minimal experience and lack of common sense, and being advised by an older woman who has been working there forever does not ease the process. Shoppers cannot expect much in terms of customer service from the cashiers at this TJ Maxx location. It shows and proves that their ability to think and work determines their level of IQ, barely qualifying for minimum wage.
I strongly suggest that all shoppers save their sanity and visit the TJmaxx at the Chino location. At Chino, they offer 1.) much better customer service (no attitudes are found in any department), 2.) a cleaner facility with working AC, 3.) a checkout line that is always fast because they have 10+ cashiers open when it gets busy, and a manager is always on-site. If you ever encounter any issues, the manager will be happy to assist you. Everything that you expect in a happy shopping experience is at this location, unlike at Walnut, where customer service is...
