Last October 23, 2014, my sister-in-law, my wife and I were seated outside at one of Ten Ren's table. My wife and I went inside to order drinks. The staff/cashier, Liza, had a gangster attitude.
My wife & I were just trying to make sure, that Liza gets our order right/correctly. She immediately got irritated when I politely asked her, if she got our order right, since we have add-ons on our drinks, like mini-boba, aloe vera and jelly crystals. She started arguing and exhibited a gangster attitude towards my wife and me.
A very nice staff, Denny, immediately called Liza's attention not to fight with customers. He immediately took care of our order and apologized for Liza's gangster behavior. The other lady at the counter even apologized to us, for the inappropriate behavior Liza has showed. On her way out of the restaurant, she confronted me and challenged me that I could argue with her! How could a 60-year old man like me argue with a very unreasonable, combative and a youngster with a big ego?
Liza then returned inside the restaurant to continue her shift. However, she told her customers about what had happened. Those customers were staring at us--as if we were criminals! My wife went inside the restaurant and told Liza to stop.
Liza without a doubt was trying to start a fight. I told her, if she doesn't stop picking a fight, I will call the police! Her gangster attitude prevailed by shouting at us--old people. My sister-in-law is a retired senior, my wife and I are on our 60's. How is it, that a staff with a gangster attitude work in a restaurant like Ten Ren's?
We decided to move to another Chinese boba place on Nogales Street.
I will NEVER RETURN to Ten Ren's. It's not a good place to spend your money, especially when a staff like Liza has a gangster attitude.
A good restaurant like Ten Ren's doesn't deserve a staff with a gangster behavior. I regret going to this restaurant. I give it 1 star. Because of the mistreatment we got from a staff.

Don’t normally complain, but BEAWARE……..I ordered UberEat at 12:55pm the store didn’t process the order when I got there around 1:15pm, and when I arrived they have noticed no one is working on the order, and started to prep the order, and I waited in the car for another 15-20 mins, and went to check my order again, but one of the staff gave my order to other customer. Maddie came to apologize saying it her fault, she instructed the staff to prep order I had, and she will voided/refund the order and provide me 3 free drinks of my choices for later on. But later came back, telling me she talked to her manager, since I am “willing to wait” for the order , they can’t cancel my order, now I’ve been waiting around one hour for my order and telling me since I am “willing to wait” they can’t cancel my order, but you were telling me your are preparing the order and made me waited at first. So I got really upset and told them I will order somewhere else.
BEAWARE! Make sure your order was cancelled and get your refund you left, otherwise uberEat will still charge you the whole order amount as cancellation fee, WHEN you don’t get your order, WHEN you waited for your order for an hour, WHEN they apologized and tell you they will refund you, WHEN they promise you for future xyz. Came here with my girlfriend at 10 pm knowing that they only serve drinks and the service was terrible. The people there seemed like they didn’t want to take our order and were giving us attitude from the start. We ordered and then were going to use our stamp card which we got there before and it was our free drink. The person told us that they were unable to take it because it had expired in May of 2018. And ok we both get stuff expires but like me and my girlfriend have been going to this place for the past year and we’re not together during the year of 2017. So we were confused and asked if there was anything that they could do for us and they said no and I was mad cause I paid for ten drinks to get my free one and now I can’t get one. Wow just wow.
