Wamego Recreation Sports Complex — Attraction in Wamego

The fields are nice and the grounds are well kept but who ever in their right mind would put the restrooms and concessions 150 yards from the fields and the parking lot is even farther. Some of the grandparents have a heck of a time making the long walk from the parking lot to the center of the fields and then back to the bathrooms or concessions later on. There is a green space right in the center of the fields maybe for bathrooms and concessions in the future which...

Great fireworks display every year, and the fact people go out and do clean up the day after is awesome. Also, not sure if the new area for port-a-potty set up is smart or not, there was quite a bit of congestion on the walk out, but that's usually to be expected for right after the display. Great place for a walk, play tennis, or watch a game...

These fields are so bad that calling them a "Sandlot" would be a disservice to Sandlots. These are the fields that the local high school plays on, unfortunately. If you have to play here don't plan on sliding and bring a mouthpiece because there's a high probability you'll get a bad hop off the gravel...
