We stopped in on Thursday, May 2, 2024, for an evening of inspirational painting. I was unaware that this place even existed and I am over in the Cleveland Park / Connecticut Avenue area all of the time. This place is not very big so it is easy to miss. Details about the establishment.
• This place is small and doesn't hold many people. For the party size we had (11 people) we filled the rear of the establishment. There were other public people there as well painting at separate tables.
• Rachel was super nice, friendly, has a great personality, customer service skills were A+, and even the new lady who really didn't want to be mentioned was cool too. She helped me when I was picking my colors because a certain shade of black that I wanted was quite low so she got a fresh bottle.
• Instructions for what to do were clearly printed and laid out on the table. I love that.
• The paint colors were organized so well. They're numbered and on the wall to display the shades of colors were tiles with paint samples. SN: I cannot tell you how happy this makes me. I love efficiency.
• The display wall of the items you can choose from is fantastic! I spent at least 10 minutes browsing items and had a hard time selecting just a single item to start with. Everything from ceramic typewriters, honeybees, mermaids, beer / coffee mugs, skulls and a bit more. There is a good selection of items to choose from.
• Prices vary on different items. Bring a minimum of $100 dollars to spend especially if you're taking a parent taking a child and both of you paint an item.
• I would suggest getting here early in order to spend time browsing, choosing colors, and painting. Time moves quickly when you're having a phenomenal time with friends.
• The good thing is that if you do not finish your project, then you can take it home, and bring it back on another day to complete. However, if you leave your unfinished project there it will be sent to the kiln. Your project will be baked as the unfinished product that it is. Sorry but those are the rules. I have nothing bad to say about the rules.
• Overall we all enjoyed ourselves including my daughter.

Read moreOverall, the experience was fine. However, I had a reservation for 6 at 4:15 PM. We arrived on time, and around 5:30, we were told that they needed the table and that we should be wrapping up. I felt very rushed on the way out. We were already in the process of finishing up, but staff began cleaning the table while we were still seated. Technically, we still had the table for another 30 minutes, so I’m not sure why there was such a rush to move us out.
I completely understand the need to turn tables during busy periods, but the place was nearly empty, so the urgency felt unnecessary. A more thoughtful and respectful approach would go a long way in making guests feel valued. Our reservation confirmation stated we had the table until 6:30 PM, which made the early push to leave all the more confusing. Clearer and more accurate communication upfront about any time limits would greatly improve the overall...
Read morereally great place for all ages.
a couple caveats, they require spots booked online in advance but the website does not work well. either it lets you choose a date but not a time or nothing at all. very frustrating! then when you finally get a booking, you get texts at 2am (pictured) reminding you about your booking!!! who in their right mind decided that was a good idea?
they refuse to take bookings over the phone
that being said, when you get a booking, it’s a great place. there are lots of different colors, patterns and clays figures to choose from. the paint does not look like it is anything special at first but once it’s baked, it really looks amazing. they have birthday party options and it’s a great place to take kids who are interested in art to explore their creativity.
parking is a bit difficult but patience is key, a spot will open up eventually. we usually park on the side streets and...
