This new shopping center is down on the Kalama Waterfront down the road past the McMenamins Lodge and Lounge with a child playground and walkable park and beach area with picnic tables in between. The new shopping center is located off exit 30 of the I-5 Interstate with a big lite up red sign called "Public Market" but it is also known as the "Mountain Timber Market." It has several different shops inside with several more vacancies available for rent. It is two stories with two sets of stairs, restrooms on both floors, and a large elevator near one of the stairs. On the second floor there are two separate professional conference rooms with large wall size flat screen TV's on one side of the building and on the other side are two future restaurants still under construction. Some of the shops, such as the winery, art photography gallery, bakery, and mini deli offer 10% military discount, the plant shop offers 20% military discount, and the other shops offer no military discount at this time. There is a little Kalama cubical store shop with Washington Souvenirs, Sweat Shirts, and Coffee Mugs. A Art Decorative Decor Store with a lot colorful products. A Decorative Chocolate Shop, Winery Store, high-end Glossy Art Photography Gallery shop, a cute little plant store, a flavorful cute little Bakery that also sells dessert scented candles, a Coffee Shop with a menu of drinks, sandwiches, pizzas, muffins, and bagels, and a cute little deli with a variety of breads, meats, cheeses, drinks, snacks, kitchen utensils items, and about a dozen different gelato ice cream flavors. Something I really like about each of the stores is that you can enter from the inside or outside and they all have see through garage sliding doors that can be opened during the warmer months so there businesses can expand to the outdoors during the Spring and...
Read moreMy family and I had an amazing time at the beach!!! It was our first time there and we were expecting to have to hike a bit. To my delight, parking was very close and accessible to all areas of the beach. There were basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, playgrounds, sheltered areas with tables, and port-o-potties for those who "gotta-go". The beach was clean and so was the park, with garbage cans available throughout. There were also paved paths running parallel to the river, perfect for jogging or strolling with your sweetie. I'm sure there are many more attractions that we did not get to explore due to time constraint, but no worries, were gonna go back! My recommendation is, don't forget...
