We came here out of pure curiosity on a busy Sunday. There was a long line to wait to check in, and everyone was queued up in a narrow long hallway that blocked the entrance to their lounge. Not too great, but once we got our names in we only waited 20 minutes which is pretty good for a busy Sunday lunch. The restaurant itself is nestled in a beautiful lodge and I liked the stained glass windows and the wood walls, and there's plenty to look at / walk around while you wait. We were seated outside (apparently the indoor and the outdoors have different menus, so this is the outdoor experience I suppose). I ordered a flight of their ciders (blackberry, cherry, and the plain) and their key lime pie sour ale. The cherry one was definitely not my cup of tea, but the blackberry was delicious! I would recommend you skip the flight and order that blackberry cider... It was awesome. The key lime pie sour wasn't too shabby either, I usually keep to my stouts and porters but this was palatable to me. Food was... mid at best. We ordered the Captain Neon burger and my fiancee ordered a different burger that I can't remember. The fries were slacking heavy. They were hot, but they were unseasoned, wiggly soft fries. Not even their mystic 18 sauce (tastes tangy!) could save it. The burger looked good but the patty was a little dry and they do not give you nearly enough blue cheese in that burger. Usually I wouldn't mind but these burgers were like 18-20$ a pop. Not great. ANYWAYS it wasn't awful, I just think its overpriced for what you get. If you're hard pressed and youre here just order some cider and some apps.

I wanted to love it... and I mostly did. Favorite things: it's McMenamins, it's fun! Drinks were excellent, service was on point. The decor is fun and cozy, the location on the Columbia River is beautiful. Our drinks were delicious! I had a hot buttered rum on a cold evening, my husband had an Irish Stout. We had two servers through the evening and both were friendly and attentive. The Hawaii Five-0 Pressed Sandwich was the highlight of our food. It has a lot of flavor going on, but it was all good for us. Unfortunate things: the Cajun tots you can find at all of the McMenamins (I believe), were cold. They were some how still crunchy which was their only saving, but still disappointing. The other sandwich we ordered was the Ironworks Prime Rib Dip which wasn't bad... It just wasn't impressive. The carmelized onions were sweet, which is probably just a preference thing but it's not noted in the menu and the meat maybe wasn't stingy but it wasn't generous or particularly noteworthy. Overall: Service, drinks and atmosphere we're great! Food was hit and miss. We still enjoyed our time and meal. I probably enjoyed everything more because we split our sandwiches, so my meal wasn't a loss.

Not really worth it. Overpriced, low quality food in small proportions. If you're staying at the hotel I guess you don't have much choice but don't drive yourself out here for the food. You can enjoy the shoreline without eating at the pub. Drinks are what you'd expect from McMenamins. Decent beer and cocktails. Waitstaff did their best during the rush but the kitchen kept making errors, causing confusion, comps, and disappointment all around. Not an easy job, I know, but I cant recommend the experience and end result. Kudos to the waitstaff keeping it together. Don't give them any guff. If you want a hamburger, I recommend getting 2 for $5 whoppers at Burger King instead and sitting on the patio or shoreline with some beers. If you want a cafeteria-grade burger with tater tots and bad produce and money is no object, consider dining here for the lols. Otherwise, stick to drinks and have patience.

The Coud Bar (almost top floor of the main lodge) was a nice departure from the family friendly restaurant on the ground floor. Its a fairly intimate indoor and outdoor seating bar with river view and no one under 21 admitted. The wait staff was really friendly considering how busy it was in the early Sunday afternoon. I enjoyed a few Egyptian Cotton IPAs and others in the group had some delicious sours and ciders. One selection of beer was disappointing if not bad!? The Steel Bridge Cherry Cream Ale. Seemed flat for a nitro and poorly representative of the description. I recommend sampling before committing. The bar tender seemed put off by my displeasure of the beer but then admitted he wasn't impressed with it either and offered to replace the beer with something else. We also enjoyed two deserts and had a nice time relaxing. The view is beautiful. I will come back for certain.

If you want to be "cold" then the Cloud Bar is the place to be. The air conditioner vents blow across the ceiling and down the window wall and onto the tables. Very cold. The service was excellent. Very attentive without being annoying. My wife had the whispering meadow beer and I had the 1983 lager, both good. We ordered the soft pretzel sticks and beer cheese dip. They came out hot and delicious. I ordered the omnivore pizza. The crust was clearly scratch made in house. All toppings were fresh and flavorful. I liked it a lot. My wife had the JR's Jumbo Deluxe burger. 1/3 lb with all the usual veggies, an egg, bacon and cheddar cheese. She ate the whole thing. She ordered the Tots with it and they were good, just didn't have the room to eat them all. The atmosphere would've been 5 stars if it weren't for the Arctic breeze coming across the table.

We ate at the cloud bar inside the hotel. It was fantastic food and fabulous views, and the staff was very friendly and attentive. Great stop on our way to Seattle!! Fun place to explore!!
