The Port of Camas-Washougal — Attraction in Washougal

I’m going to review this as two different areas with two different experiences.

First, we have rented a boat slip for roughly twenty years here. Slips are nice and wide. Current can be very fast at times. Or, other years, water level very low causing launching to be a challenge. Docks do have a problem with spiders and cobwebs. Some summers the algae, grass and weeds grows very close to the bottom of the boat.

Fuel dock is nice, porta potty available. Trash cans available at top of ramp and dock carts. Also, secure restrooms, very clean.

Communication isn’t always great with Marina office. They seem a bit late on what they need, then panic call and demand info right away or you risk losing your slip.

RV dump available except during freezing weather.

Second, Events at the port are great, family oriented and well run. Well maintained grass area.

Some thief problems at marina. Which I’m sure happens...

We went to fourth of july festivities here and had a great time. It was the first year, so it was small, but it had that small-town feel of friendliness and community- Precisely what we moved to Camas looking for! We watched spectacular fireworks and avoided the monstrosity that is the Vancouver nonsense over at the fort (seriously, ever want to capture an accurate idea of what the zombie apocalypse would look like? Watch folks try to pile into buses after the show- smoke everywhere, tired adults, drunkenly swaggering, children screaming. Chaos!) I was embarrassed the other day dealing with the Harbor Master mark all he seemed to want to do is give tickets out he delayed me in my time. I drove my boat and trailer to a parking spot and was going to get paid parking pass after I had parked he was all over me saying I better go get a pass or I'm going to get a ticket that's a bunch of BS you don't have to talk to people like that or act that way I have talked with other people who are unhappy with this person at the port maybe he should move on to something...
