Almost "Beautiful" (as construction is nearly finished, and probably finished by the time you've read this). There is AMPLE PARKING, one covered area (not sure how "SHARING" play out with the HUGE Capacity parking allows ;-( )... I'd be EXTRA KIND in sharing and keep alcoholics in check to not have a bad day, because I don't like "being right" often lately. The Marina, where the boats on water are, the "somewhat of a grassy bank" need Clark County Work Crew (because they are hard working, and they can feel proud to contribute on what will be "Very Beautiful" in the near future...THAT GOOD MEMORY will last forever, and hopefully will grow to contribute more for pay using THIS PARK as a REFERENCE for example on Resume' to Clark County Park & Recreation, etc) to pull up all miscellaneous items...to have perfectly manicured to beautiful greenery, with a "FLOATING BOARDWALK" where land meets water, maybe "An Infinity Sideway" next to the water (like Infinity Pools visually meld into surrounding water) sidewalk or ??? - Just "something that isn't an eye sore" so close. Yo Camas, if you need help on "Creative Planning" ... that is what I pride myself on, and obviously like "Helping"...Civil Engineering projects large & small (Tunnel from I-5/Battle Ground west to Columbia River to create 3rd Interstate Bridge over Sauvie Island to Hwy-30 that can bypass ALL TRAFFIC not doing business in Vancouver & Portland to solve the ORIGINAL ISSUE OF TRAFFIC CONGESTION). People now "In Charge" now post-covid "close deals" and as a 3rd group, of course has no recollection as if having amnesia about where we were with two-thirds majority on a third Bridge, now forgotten (I know it's "INTENTIONALLY" in Defiance of what the people want and what we have spoken on so many occasions but falling on deaf ears to do not listen to their constituents). I am neutral and of no political party affiliation, so please DO NOT ASK if you inquire back to...
Read moreI love to walk the beautiful nature trails along with my Grandson and Dog. It's a great place to take pictures too. I've taken more pictures here of Mt.Hood, the Columbia River, leaves falling, and of coarse countless pics of my favorite subject.... My Grandson!! I feel safe down there too, It's lit up very well, and the pathway is extra wide for bikers, walkers, strollers, ect. My favorite part is the wild flowers, willows, and even blackberries. It a peaceful, wonderful place to walk and pick wildflowers for a natural bouquet, or even a blackberry pie. There is even a Walnut Tree on the Eastside of the trail; and in the summer the planted Wheatgrass along the parking area on the Eastside really starts it all off. It gets you ready for what's ahead. The parking is nice too, I feel safe parking my car at either side of the park. The Restrooms and surrounding area are exceptional. It sort of frames the Columbia River and Mt.Hood views. The amount of detail that went into the construction of this park is fenominal. The decorative metal fish sunk into the concrete as Donar Plaques, was a beautiful touch. There is also a small beautiful natural wood covered area with benches for picnics. There are also benches along the well lit trail and surrounding area along the Riverfront as well. Another amazing, forward thinking idea they had was to put phone or device charging units in the light poles near the benches. There is even supposed to be a playground area built soon. It's running a bit behind but the plans that are posted at the park look pretty fun for all. As with the whole park theme, they did incorporate what the NW, Gorge, and Washougal is all about. The Port Park has got to be the most beautiful, forward thinking, well planned part of Washougal ever. That's just...
Read moreHad a last-minute get together with a few family and friends under the gazebo at this park a few weeks ago. Great riverfront view and the boats moored at the marina are pretty to look at. Served food and drinks and all invited guests enjoyed walking around the park and down to the river. There is some extensive construction going on right now and there were loud trucks that we had to navigate around when parking in the lot, but they were done for the day at 5pm. So, just some of the park is clearly marked as off-limits with caution tape around what I assume is newly landscaped/sensitive areas of the park. But honestly, what I appreciated most about this park was that we had an emergency at the end of our little fĂȘte and I had to leave our Lincoln Aviator parked in the lot for 2 additional days and nights before I could return to get it. When I was finally able to take an Ăber to go pick up the car, much to my relief, the car was still parked right where we left it and nobody had messed with it (despite the fact that we left the sunroof completely open and it had rained a LOT through all the subsequent days it was parked there). So a huge shout out and THANK YOU!! to the park employees, for not towing my unauthorized parked vehicle to an impound lot and costing me hundreds of dollars to retrieve. I appreciate it more than you...
