Growing with the G’s 📍 Belvidere Park Waukegan, Illinois ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Waukegan often gets a bad rap, but don’t let that stop you from exploring its hidden beauty— the Waukegan Park District is home to some truly amazing parks! We recently visited Belvidere Park, and it was great’! The playground is thoughtfully designed with multiple slides of all sizes, two sets of swings — one for toddlers and another for older kids — and separate play areas for different age groups. My 2-year-old was eager to explore the bigger side, and while it was a bit more challenging for him, it was great to see how much there was to grow into! There isn’t a fence around the park so if you have some runners it’ll be a little harder to get them inside the park, but the park is very large and lots of things to do. Just across the way is the SplashZone at Corrine J. Rose Park. There’s a small fee to enter, but it’s well worth it if you’re looking to keep the kids entertained on a hot day. Plus, there’s a walking trail nearby if you want to stroll while they splash. I really enjoyed this place. The city did an amazing job with this park. My kids were really happy and it's only $7 each for non residents to use the splash pad and $4 if you live here.

This is a Recreational Center that caters to seniors. It’s especially nice for groups to participate in various activities. They prepare taxes for seniors free of charges. This site is a beautiful Park for adults, teenagers and children. It’s beautiful, it’s has basketball courts, many children friendly water sites. You can have BBQ with family and friends with their grills or theirs they have movies nites in the park and much more. It’s beautiful with baseball and tennis court. There are so many things to do. Ample parking is available. I love the walking or running trail it’s so beautiful. They use to have a swimming pool but I’m not sure if they still do. I’ll have to check and report back to you.
