El Pollo Rico — Restaurant in Waukegan

Not to long ago, I visited this place and I have been patronizing them for MANY years and have never been greeted with a "hi" or "hello". I'm always the first one to always speak to them , and I'm sick of it. When I was in line and heard the "manager" or so called "owner" say "hi" to multiple people of his "own" race, I'M BLACK and when it was my turn to order he was just ready to write my order and take my money.Never a friendly greeting to me.The atmosphere here is COLD, they charge way too much for their corns that has no flavor whats so ever, just mayonnaise and butter is all you can taste.I remember when it used to be 2.50 then 3.25 now it's 4.50 ! After I spend $12-15 on tacos I'd stop by to get 2 CORNS AND THEN give GENEROUS TIPS, MULITIPLE TIMES throughout the years.I will never be going back to them ever again in my life.Very unfriendly resrurant , and the food is NOT that good.They treat you like you HAVE TO buy there.Very nasty place.They only let certain people sit down in the sitting area and when you do buy your food it's like they want you to PAY, TIP them and GET OUT, VERY BAD...

Chicken tacos good nice size(regular tortilla de milagro). Steak tacos not so good, forgot to check to see if advertise said asada or just beef its beef(para desebrar) not carne asada like i was hopping. Plus i bought food and ask to use the restroom and guy said no.. thats a big no for me won't return I'm garbage man couldn't even...

El pollo rico is the place to go for tacos that have double tortilla and carne asada. Also the habanero sauce is so spicy but so tasty. Lastly the corn in the cup is such a great tasty treat after the spicy tacos. Only thing I wish was better was that the guys at the register don't smile. They look unhappy and tired...
