Hoagie Hut — Restaurant in Waukegan

Mi wife is pregnant & still didn't eat that Italian beef (dat cost 11.45, w/no damn fries)... they need 2 stop false advertising because they ain't nothing like Chicago, these folks need 2 visit Chicago 2 see what a REAL "Chicago Style" restaurant is supposed be! These suburbanites need 2 jus embrace & appreciate their geographical disposition & stop tryin 2 emulate urban society, KNOW THYSELF... if food is appetizing or appealing to the senses, it won't matter if itz cold or hot. I'm a trained Chef & I know food if I don't know nothing else & i quite intelligent, YALL SUCK!!! I am from Jamaica & have lived ALL OVER CHICAGO (North, west, east & south) & U DONT MATCH UP... CHANGE UR NAME 2 "SUBurban", because its low standard compared 2 the city... I have been there twice & wasnt satisfied w/mi food neither time!... I swear 2 U I can make a better sandwich from my kitchen then ANYTHING come out that place U call a "restaurant"... anytime U want 2 put that 2 the test I'm...

First timers... not impressed. We got 3 sandwiches. Chicago cheese steak hoagie, seafood hoagie, chicken cheese Philly hoagie. 6inch each. All with fries. Fries were hot and fresh but not salted. Sandwiches... fresh toasted bread- good. Very unique take on chicago cheese steak with lettuce, tomatoes onion and Italian seasoning/dressing. The meat was a topping on a veggie sandwich. Chicken hoagie had grilled onions and mushrooms on it with some of the Italian seasoning. It was like Italian beef flavored chicken Philly. Very different. Seafood hoagie had a ton of lettuce, onions italian seasoning on it. It was a cold sandwich on toasted bread. I expected warm seafood. It looked like seafood dip smeared on a toasted bread topped with a head of shredded lettuce and 1/4 of an onion. See pictures for yourself. We won't be...

Still tasts the same. I use to go to the Original Hoagie Hut when I was in grade school. Service isn't fast but that is because it's made to order. But always worth the wait. Only thing that bugs be is, I wish the hours were a bit different. I have made trips there based on their Google hours posted to find out they closed early. No sign nothing. As a person that works customer service I would suggest updating your hours. It has happened to me a few times so either they close early often or their hours really are not correct on Google. I know alotnof businesses have changes their hours since covid and have shortened them but I think it should be changed in Google website etc. Gas isn't cheap. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would dislike driving 30+ minutes out to find out...
