Master Sushi & drive thru — Restaurant in Waukegan

5+5+5+++ 🍣🍤🍚🥟🍥🥡🥙 It took a while for them to get everything out of the way and open up, but it absolutely was worth the wait.

I'd like to give props to Alex (stakeholder and all around nice guy) at the counter, he makes things happen and keeps everything moving flawlessly.

This is absolutely something like you would find in Japan. Or, maybe even South Korea! The decorum is Americanized but has that Japanese or South Korean feel.

We ordered the "grilled salmon roll," "the master grilled shrimp," and the "sushi roll shrimp tempura." Excellent! Price wise, much better than the rest. What we had gotten here, would have cost twice as much in some of the other establishments.

They get your food done quickly, faster than some of the fast food places in the area.

By the way, the bathrooms were spotless. And, since you can see the kitchen, you know that that is spotless also.

I would also make use of the drive-thru if you're not feeling sitting inside. Although the inside is extremely inviting.

And if you eat inside, on a Friday night it's as entertaining as Kabuki theater. It absolutely shines a different light on Waukegan, lol! And not a bad one either.

My boyfriend and I Ordered online for pick up. Ordered 4 rolls and seaweed salad, our total with a 15% tip came to $72 and it said it would be 20 minutes. My boyfriend went inside and arrived at the given pickup time and they said it would be 5 more minutes. No problem, he waited and they gave him our order. He came back out to the car and checked the bag which only had 2 rolls in it. Our correct receipt was attached to the bag so we figured there was a mix up. He went back in and apparently our order was given to someone in the drive thru. I was a little disappointed because we had to wait again for our entire order to be remade. They made it fairly quickly and we got home and realized no chopsticks or soy sauce was given to us. Im sad we tipped beforehand as it was definitely a bad first experience here.
