Terrible company to do business with. They have good prices on guns, but it isn't worth the frustration. I ordered a "heavy duty" tactical rifle bag from them. I didn't get to take the rifle out for a few months and the first time I took it out the zipper completely busted. I emailed Rural King about it, and never received a response back. Below is my email-----------------I took this bag on my first hunting trip over the weekend, and while carrying the rifle in the bag, to the hotel, the main zipper busted open. It also became stuck and when I attempted to put it back to the starting position to rezip my bag, the actual zipperhead basically disintegrated in my hand. So now I have a bag with a non-working zipper that I can't carry my rifle in. This was my first and only trip out with the bag.
What are my options for repair or replacement? Please let me know. I can send pictures or even ship the entire bag back.----------------End of email.
They never responded to this email. So today almost a year later, I called them because I was reminded of the issue from an email I received. I spoke to a CSA that was EXTREMELY condescending to me. I told her repeatedly "If you aren't going to do anything about the bag, that's fine, but please don't be condescending to me." After talking over me and more condescension, she finally put Darla (the Customer Service Manager) on the phone. Darla was not condescending but basically told me, call someone who care's like the manufacturer. At this point my frustration was over the top and I told her that I would never do business with her company again. Please avoid this business. They don't even care to respond, and then when you follow-up they want to give you attitude. I'm going to avoid them like the plague. There are a lot of other stores to buy crappy rifle bags from.
Actually, this is the second bad experience I have had with Rural King, I had one older female associate at the gun counter in Wentzville, Mo. (Rural King) call me a monkey when I bought my Sig SP2022 from them. I kid you not. Can you imagine doing that to a customer? I probably could have raised a significant stink, but I just let it go. Update- Wednesday 6-15-22 Well today was the first time I have ever encountered a RK employee that did not tell me the truth about a product. I was at the gun barn and asked the guy behind the counter if he knew how many drams a certain shotgun shell had in it, he looked at the box I handled him and said "probably 2 to 2 1/2", when the standard in a 12-gauge shotgun shell is 2 3/4 dram with a 3-dram equivalent. I'm not saying this to cause a problem for that employee, but if you work in a certain area of a business then you should know what products you are working with and maybe something about those products, I can understand that a new employee might not know, but one that has been there for a while is a bit different. I have had plenty of experience with working with customers and the one thing I know for a fact is - no customer wants the wrong information about a product (no matter what business they are at) it is always better to say "I'm not sure" than to give false information about the product, or take a couple extra minutes to try and find out, but never give out information that is not true to a product just because you don't know, (one person's misshap shouldn't reflect upon the entire business) and just because this happened it will not change my mind about shopping at RK because it is one of the BEST places to shop and I will always recommend...
Read moreI stopped by on Sunday to do some shopping. While we were there we decided to take a look at the rabbits. My wife was interested in purchasing the rabbit so I tried to find someone to help but was out of luck! I decided to pick up the rabbit and then we finally seen a worker that we thought could answer some questions about the rabbit! WRONG! My wife had decided she was going to buy the rabbit and the worker walked by and told my wife she needed to put the rabbit down! RUDE! My wife said she is planning on buying the rabbit. The worker found us a box to put the rabbit in and we proceeded with our shopping. My wife was up towards the front of the store when she heard the worker who complained about my wife holding the rabbit to another worker/ manager! Talking shit! My wife let her know that she heard what she said! When my wife told me what happened I spoke with the manager on duty. She said that she would talk to the employee. She said the employee was just concerned about the well being of the rabbit. I said if you all were so concerned about the rabbit maybe you should have a clean area for the rabbit, fresh water, and food. The living conditions were terrible! I mentioned my experience to a friend of mine. He said he went there to buy a lawnmower and heard the girls at the customer service desk talking crap on a customer when he was there!
