I've been debating writing this review all day, bc I don't like to say things that will hurt businesses. I have to write this because this salon is very unsafe. The main thing I want to share is the tools are completely unsanitized- the tools we're taken out of a box and put right back in, ready for the next customer. The cuticle nip tool was taken out and sprayed with an alcohol bottle to "sanitize" it before use. My finger was sliced deeply with a metal cuticle tool and I'm truly concerned about it. I treated the wound immediately at home, but it did not stop bleeding for the entire manicure. The tech tried to express to me that the file did it on multiple occasions while she was trying to deal with the blood (with bare hands), but it did not. I felt the tool that did it. That tool went right back into the dirty little box. I've never seen nail files so dirty. I'm on vacation, so went here based on reviews, so I know there are some talented nail techs here, mine was not. I think because I got just a basic manicure. I could not communicate with my tech because she could not speak any English. The color I chose was admittedly difficult (pale and milky) but the layers were incomplete-meaning, there was not enough polish on the brush to make a complete layer, cuticle to tip, and it was obvious in the finish. You could see the ridges where the polish of the second coat ran out, 2/3 of the way up the nail. It was too dim in the salon to see properly but I didn't even care, I just wanted her to finish so I could get out of there. When I did get out in the light I noticed that the top coat she had switched to after a few nails was obviously clear, and the one she had used first was pinkish with sparse silver glitter in it. I stopped by the CVS for betadine and polish remover on the way home. It is not too hard or expensive to properly sterilize tools. It is just wrong to operate this carelessly. Edit: I suspect the main glowing review on here was from a tech who works here or family/friend who was at the salon. I now recognize her profile picture...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI want to preface this by saying that I hate leaving bad reviews. Also, everyone in this shop is friendly and kind, and able to do quality designs. However the service I received was not good and I have to share.
Pedicure - over an hour and a half for a regular pedicure, regular polish no design. The woman aggressively cleaned under my toenails multiple times unnecessarily (one swipe should do it, Iām not a cave troll) and her fingernails dug into the sides of my toes to the point of pain multiple times. She was also far too heavy handed with her cuticle clean up, and by the time it came to apply polish my toes were so sensitive it hurt to have her clean up the stray polish. On top of that, the toenails were crooked and not even. I donāt want to attach a photo because of weirdos on the internet but it is noticeable on both feet.
Dip powder manicure - I was soaking off previous dip powder for the entirety of the super long pedicure. My fingers still feel funny from being in acetone that long - 5 days later. The nail tech did start the process while I was still in the pedicure chair, which I appreciated, but she overfiled a few of my natural nails with the nail drill. One of them is very bad to the point I am not comfortable getting the dip removed because of how thin my nail is underneath. I can feel how thin it is under the dip. At the end I was satisfied enough with the nails I left with, very cute watermelon design.
The cherry on top of this 3 hour experience was that I was told at the end that they couldnāt take credit card due to internet being down. I donāt think it went down right when I went to pay so I would have liked to know that before hand so I didnāt have to scramble, and what if I only had a card???
I wonāt be returning despite really wanting it to work out since itās a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve gone here twice. I wasnāt thrilled after the first time but their location was convenient so I gave them a second chance. Joined my mom and Aunt and got a very short set of nails. Shorter than usual. That was Saturday. Today is Tuesday. Itās been 3 days. 4 of the nails popped off. Iāve had a longer set withstand more and last much longer than this set did. One star only because zero either isnāt an option or not allowed when leaving a review. I arrived just after 1pm and left close to 4pm. Took the girl 3 hours to do both a pedicure and set of nails. The only good thing I can say is that both hands and pedicure looked good for my evening out on Saturday. Day it was done. To say Iām upset that my nails barely lasted 3 days is mild. I never leave reviews. But after spending 3 hours and having 4 nails pop off after 3 daysā¦. My review is do NOT waste your time...
