I purchased cabinets from this company and did the installation myself. After receiving the cabinets there was multiple issues that I couldn’t get answered or corrected from this business. I paid extra money to have the casework built in there shop and when I received the cabinets to start install found out first that my sink base cabinet did not come cut out for my farmhouse under mount sink. Was told that was on me not then which is not right at all. I paid extra money to have roller shelves in my pantry, when I went to install it was a bunch of pieces just like an ikea product. Called the company once again to get some insight on how to install and was sent a picture of a pantry in there showroom. Also come to find out they did not send me all the pieces I need to install. After multiple attempts to see when I can get them delivered, I still have no clue on where my pieces are that I paid for. Had a new lazy Susan corner base cabinet come In from the factory with a split face panel from there builders splitting it while running screws into it for a magnetic catch, there idea to fix was cheap wood filler and a touch up pen that looks horrendous. The stiles for my refrigerator panels were unfinished. When asked about that and a fix I received no answer. The sales rep who I dealt with was named Tina Slagle, and she is absolutely horrible. Has no clue about anything she pushes to sell. After multiple phone calls and emails we talked on a Friday where she flat out blamed all these issues on BKG and she is just a middle person and was supposed to talk to her owner and when I called the following week to follow up she was nasty and hung up on me multiple times. Still to this day have not got answers back on anything including the missing pieces that I paid for. I bought refrigerator panels and wall cabinet and told her and sent to her my current refrigerator size, she sends out a wall cabinet and side panels set up for exactly 36” which is what my refrigerator measurements are. Now the panels are to tight to my refrigerator, a piece of paper couldn’t slide in between. Once again called Tina and emailed her and she tells me that I didn’t tell her I needed a bigger size or fillers but on the other hand she and her crew are the ones that designed the kitchen based off the dimensions from my old kitchen with all the old cabinet sizes and current appliances. I had to clarify to her that I am a customer not a designer, I give her what I have to work with and she tells me design options that work. She needed some clarification on what her job role was with BKG. This company does not supply any quality items and is very difficult to work with once you point out issues with there product. Knowing this I would of went else where that takes care of there customers and actually backs there product. These people just ghost you and hang up on you. If your looking for a new kitchen I would definitely recommend taking your money else where. Tina never even followed up and gave me the warrenty information for the products I purchased. This company leaves a lot to be desired. Luckily all the phone conversations and emails were saved to further proceeded in a different route to get this addressed...
Read moreWe had a fantastic experience with BKG Design. Our kitchen designer, Noelle, came up with a great design given the small size of our kitchen that was right in line with our expectations. Throughout the entire process she was there to give design tips and help us create the modern look we were envisioning. Given the age of our previous kitchen we needed a fair amount of work done including demo, electrical, plumbing, and some floor work in addition to the new cabinets and countertops. What I loved about Noelle and BKG was there was never any pressure or upselling along the way. All of our options were laid out to us from least expensive to most expensive and any part of the project that we wanted to do ourselves or hire an outside contractor for they were happy to accomodate. We ended up choosing BKG for the entire remodel and I am so happy that we did. Noelle did a fantastic job of project management as the entire remodel fell exactly to plan from both a time and cost perspective. Noelle would check in frequently to make sure we were aware of what was next to come, any upcoming decisions we had to make, and clarify items if there was any potential for confusion. In addition to project management, the install itself went very smoothly and that was thanks to the wonderful installers, Bill and Chris. Given that I work from home I was able to witness their work each day and I have nothing but praise for everything that they did. They showed up on time every single day and did not skip a beat from the moment they walked through the door. They were always quick to answer any questions I had and even go so far as to explain how things are done or provide advice as I like to learn a bit myself. Their knowledge of what they were doing was very apparent and impressive and it shows in the final product. If you want a kitchen remodel that is managed properly, stays true to cost estimates, and has a finished product that aligns with your expectations, look no further. The whole crew has years of experience in this arena and they run a fantastic shop....
Read moreI went kitchen cabinet shopping on Friday May 28, 2017 my first stop was BKG Design; Budget Kitchen & Granite located at 158 Perry Hwy, Pittsburgh, PA 15229. I had noticed the store that week and also found them on-line. I printed out a couple of kitchens within my price range from their portfolio on line. I walked in to the showroom around 3pm that day with my mother. It was about four (4) minutes of us standing there for one of the two (2) girls to finally even acknowledge us. She asks "do you need help?" "Why yes as a matter of fact I do!" I replied. Now I may not be the most experienced in this field but I had measurements and pictures. I need 9.5 feet of top cabinet including one 30" short cabinet to hold the hanging microwave. I need 9.5 feet below base cabinets minus 30" for the stove, one (1) corner cabinet and an outer base wall for the dishwasher. UNDER 10 CABINETS! The girl asks if she can keep my measurements that she will prepare a "free" estimate this time but after their fee is Two Hundred and Fifty ($250) NONREFUNDABLE FEE for another. Whatever I was thinking I need to get an idea of what I am dealing with price wise. I tell her black she pulls out a shiny piece of plastic and informs me this is more expensive but still I DID NOT GET A NUMBER! She then says since it is a holiday (the holiday is not until next MONDAY) she will take down my info and will get back to me Tuesday or more likely WEDNESDAY! Again I need fewer than 10 cabinets I mean HOW HARD CAN IT BE to give me a rough estimate of cost!???? It is now Saturday June 3rd NO COMMUNICATION FROM BKG Designs! I felt slighted, talked down to and quite frankly unimportant and NOW BLOWN COMPLETELY OFF! IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR KITCHEN CABINETS GO SOMEPLACE ELSE ANYPLACE ELSE!!!! THIS PLACE...
