Read moreYou can hardly call this a "mall" considering half of it is empty and the other stores are moving out (like Gap). There's really no reason to go here, however, we did last night, to see Santa. There needs to be a complete overhaul on the logistics of this event. We were approx. 15 families back in line when Santa came back from dinner, we were just on the other side of the little building/house they have you walk though - we waited OVER TWO HOURS to see Santa. That's a heck of a long time to stand with a toddler. Santa sat there half the time without anyone on his lap and just looking around. The woman running the camera should not also be printing the pictures and asking people to retake photos. I mean, there were families who took like 100 pictures it seemed. When we FINALLY arrived to see Santa, the photographer took one picture and showed my wife. She asked if she could take one more since my son wasn't looking at the camera. She got him to smile and my wife went back to the computer, and it was still the same picture. She asked "didn't you take another one?" And the lady replied "no I didn't" and wouldn't take just one more. It was infuriating considering how long we just waited, and watched other people get their fair-share with Santa, but for $35 you can't even get a decent picture. My wife took out her cell phone and snapped a few pictures and got yelled at. Well, listen, if you are going to charge $35+ to get a picture with Santa and NOT EVEN TAKE A DECENT PHOTO and make people wait 2 HOURS or more which could have been 30 minutes, we will take our own photos if we...
Read moreI walked through this mall today for the first time in about 6 years, and, it was quite interesting. This mall when I last went was certainly not busy, but not as dead and the state of disarray it is in now. I went today just to walk the mall, as I don't get down to the Exton area very often since I have moved. There were maybe 15 stores open, if that. Water leaks everywhere, and, the only other people in there were people just going for walks! What was the most amusing part of it all to me was there was a map of the mall by the old JC Penny that has a map that is WAYYYY outdated. Like at least 8 years. All the big brand clothing stores are gone. All that was open of note was 2 nail salons, a day care, the Macy's, and the healthcare place. The food court only had 2 stores open. Even 6 years ago there was a mostly full food court and all the clothing stores one would need. I find the world of outdoor shopping very interesting, and always ponder how that took favor over the concept of an indoor mall. I imagine this will be the last time I ever see the inside of this mall before it closes, there is nothing there, and it is in bad shape. There was literal mold coming out of an air vent in the public food court above one of the closed restaurants, I can't imagine what is behind the walls. Surely the roof is shot. Walking through today felt surreal. True definition of a...
