Jacks Cameras has been around a long time. I’m in my mid 40’s...grew up in Exton and took many trips there developing film the old school way. They were always great, on time and the prices were right. I recently found an old video camera buried in a closet with about 10 tapes during a period you could call my pre-engagement to my first child. Nearly 7 years of memories. The tapes were stashed in the camera bag. A few tapes were my little sisters graduation from Penn State. I thought...what a great Christmas gift if I could convert it to DVD. The tapes were from 2005. I knew I would go to visit my sister in Pittsburgh upon the birth of her 2nd son...which happened Tuesday, November 27th, a week early. In a panic because I knew had to get myself to Pittsburgh as soon as possible I asked around “Who can convert these tapes to DVD?” I was told Walmart or Target or maybe some random camera shop in Malvern (I currently live in Downingtown). I immediately remembered Jacks Cameras...googled it and called. They were open and happy to have me. They converted my tapes to DVDs in 24 hours. And during their holiday rush! And imagine your sister showing up with such a gift-footage of your college graduation...that you didn’t know she had...13 years later...while you’re holding your newborn...your second child. We all take pictures and movies for a reason. A quick conversation at Jacks was all I needed to deliver a priceless moment for the holidays. They truly made it possible and I am so grateful. I can’t wait to go and convert the rest of those tapes and enjoy watching them with my kids. I think the whole experience drove home for me the importance of using a local business-the very personal and professional touch they can provide. I am so grateful for their help and encourage everyone to visit them. We all have smart phones with cameras...but there are so many things that can be done with pictures and film and digital photography. These folks know the whole game and see your story....
Read moreGentleman that assisted me on the purchase of my new d3500 was so nice and helpful BUT when I had an issue with the SD card (mind you I walked in appox. 10mins later) was so arrogant! Yes I'm a novice but I just dropped a 1000 bucks of hard earn money that isn't so easy to come by for me and plan to do continued business at this store, a little customer service and understand would have been appreciated. All that arrogance did was make me want to not come back to this location, because to be honest a lot of the things that I need I can certainly just get online. once again the gentleman which I wish I got his name that assisted me in the very beginning was fantastic and very nice and very understanding The other gentleman with (I'm sorry to say and mean no disrespect what so ever) deformed arm (hand) was just so arrogant. Now I've been in the customer service industry from selling cars to being a waitress for crying out loud for almost 25 years and this is not good customer service. Debating if I want to continue coming to this store, which is a shame because I was excited to get started with this new hobby and to see if it would turn into...
Read moreI wanted to check this store for some time and finally did it today. The first impression was awesome. My interactions with Mark were fantastic, and he is a knowledgeable person and provides expert and honest guidance. They have a wide range of cameras and the stellar collection. The camera I wanted to rent was not available at that time, so I will have to return next week to Rey it out. This is a perfect local shop to shop for a camera either to buy or rent to Rey it out before you buy. The rental prices are decent and affordable. They have tons of accessories for the photographer like tripod, flashes, background studio screens, portable screens, etc. No upselling and very honest responses. I will try the rental, and once I buy it, I will post more reviews about it. But make sure to check this place. They do have photo printing options and photography...
