Visited this restaurant with my friend for dinner and wanted to try this place out. This is located in a huge strip mall where kohls is located in exton. This place has ample shared parking. We went for dinner and the area is well lit. As you enter the restaurant you will see the nice decor and ambiance and the gelreetinf table. The staff greeted us and gave us a seating. The staff is very friendly. Note that this is a BYOB establishment. The team has done a fantastic job with the decor and tables. Plates wveryrhing make you feel a great experience. As we went through the menu, which is not robust but has a lot of options and you can see its south Indian style. We decided to order curry leaf chicken for appetizer, Special Andhra goat curry, chicken dum biryani, and garlic Naan. There were 5 other tables occupied at that time. The food started coming at a reasonable time. Curry leaf chicken didn't impress us at all. It was basically breaded chicken that would be used for chili chicken or Manchurian. Instead, they were topped with some curry leaves. Stay away from this dish The special goat curry, it was okay but nothing special about it. The meat was very tender and nicely cooked. The curry is just standard onions, tomato sauce with more red chili powder. I will not recommend this as well. To mix it with rice, it tasted good. The garlic Naan was perfect, but little on the greasier side, but went well with the goat curry. The dum biryani was probably the better one, and the chicken was cooked to perfection. The rice was a little dry but manageable. This restaurant has the potential to become a major player in the area but needs minor tweaking and focus on the recipes. Will definitely try...
Read moreWe went for lunch with kids and ordered an appetizer and entrees for each of us. We ordered Gobi Manchurian, Paneer Tikka, Malai Kofta, few bread and Veg Noodles for the kids. Gobi Manchurian was really good and Malai Kofta and Paneer curry were amazing.
That being said, the restaurant was not busy (we were the only folks) and still they made 3 mistakes:
1.Garlic Naan had hair on it and it appears that it was there when the naan was cooked. We quickly spotted it and they took the naan and gave us a fresh one.
Veg Noodles - Kids had ordered the noodles and wanted it to be kid-friendly and non-spicy. The noodle had a good portion of red chile flakes in it. On our way out when we told the person at the counter of this, he said we should have said kid-friendly. Kids ordered it and confirmed twice of no spice so instead of owning the mistake he said next time we should say Kid-friendly
When we were about to leave the chef came out saying bhindi masala was ready. We had not ordered and were already on our way out so didn't much attention. The person on the counter asked if we ordered bhindi masala, our server also confirmed that we didn't order, he checked the bill that we had paid and it had bhindi masala billed. Everyone visiting this place - please check your bill before you pay. We didn't check and had paid for something we didn't order. I asked for reversal of changes but the person said he couldn't reverse and paid us cash.
Overall the taste of curries was good however the overall experience makes me wonder if I...
Read moreI recently attended the grand opening of Deccan Flavors and tried their Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani. It had a refreshing twist to the traditional recipe, with bold flavors and a fresh taste that was truly delightful. I initially planned to just sample it but I ended up eating half because it was so good. The Pepper Shrimp Fry also stood out, with its fresh ingredients clearly evident in the taste.
Despite some reviews mentioning long wait times on opening day, which is understandable given the overwhelming response, the staff handled it well overall. They even offered a complimentary Irani chai while I waited, which brought back nostalgic memories of the Irani cafés in Hyderabad. The Chikoo Shake was a perfect, fresh, and tasty way to end the meal.
The ambiance at Deccan Flavors is truly something special. It's evident that great attention to detail went into the design, creating a space that feels both modern and steeped in tradition. The decor, lighting, and overall aesthetic contribute to a warm and welcoming atmosphere that enhances the dining experience. For those who experienced long wait times, I suggest giving Deccan Flavors another chance to showcase their hospitality and delicious cuisine. Overall, it was worth the wait, and I wish the team all...
