We love dining out on weekends, and Zwei caught our eye through online reviews—it did not disappoint! Tonight was our second visit to Zwei within a month.
Their diverse menu offers a selection of Cantonese, mainland Chinese, Japanese, and Thai appetizers and entrees. Owners Chris and Christine have created a warm and welcoming ambiance that gives the restaurant an upscale feel, augmented with Christine being a gracious host.
We usually skip the appetizers and dive straight into the main courses. On our first visit, I tried the Peking Style Pork. Tonight, I opted for the Double Cooked Pork (Chinese style), which featured an appropriate blend of vegetables, pork, and spices fried to perfection, resulting in a delicious entree. Other members of our party enjoyed the Thai Green Curry Chicken and Broccoli with Garlic Sauce and were equally pleased with their meals on both visits. The best part is that their prices are very reasonable!
We unanimously agree that we will return for many more memorable dinners and highly recommend Zwei to...
Read moreZ Wei is sometimes overlooked, being so close to Han Dynasty (which was award winning before the chef moved to one of their other locations), but that is a shame. Z Wei is the more laid back and casual of the two, the decor is understated and classy, and good for a date. Before the meal you get the "old school" duck sauce and fried noodles to snack on while you ponder over the menu (be aware [currently] there is no less than three menus ("normal" menu, sushi menu, cantonese menu), you must ask to get them all). There are Japanese and Thai options on the menu as well as all the Szechuan and Cantonese standbys (ask if you don't see something!). Usually we'll get a Dan Dan Noodle appetizer as appetizer, and favorites would be the Green Curry Chicken & Tangerine Beef ( although I cant't say I've ever been disappointed w/ anything I've ordered). Meal presentation is typically beautiful. Meals ends with Mochi ice cream & orange slices & fortune cookies. Z Wei also offers takeout food, and there is a separate banquet room available for...
Read moreGood place for a quiet conversation for personal or professional reasons because it's clean, neat, pretty, large, professional looking. Reservations are not needed and you could walk in here with 20 people and sit down, so it's a good place for #aftermeetings of churches or post #12step groups or other spontaneous gatherings... That's valuable to know. They allowed me to stay and work a long time, so it could be a quieter alternative to Starbucks for #mobileworkspace work at home folks like me who need to eat, get out, get some work done, have a quality #meetingplace for 1-3 clients.
it seems like it is an independent family business (rather than a chain) which I always try to support. The food was standard, nothing bad, nothing remarkable. Service could have been more speedy, attentive, and enthusiastic.
I gave it a 4 because of all the convenience factors that are rare that I value, listed above: Had the food or service been exemplary I'd have given it a 5 but there is room for...
