Last weekend my heart sank when I accidentally flipped a discontinued and limited edition silver Tiffany band into the kitchen sink while washing my hands. As if that wasn't enough, I accidentally hit the GARBAGE DISPOSAL switch instead of the light and immediately heard the disposal disposing of my ring which made my sunken heart STOP in horror.
As is the case when you drop your phone, I almost didn't want to see the damage I heard taking place but reached in and pulled out what was left (pictures attached). The disposal caused pretty deep scratches to the silver, bent the ring to an oval, and separated several portions of blacks composite that used to be attached to the silver. I thought this was surely done for due to the complicated damage.
Tiffany's fixed a ring for me before that broke due to a manufacturing defect but their customer service and repair time was horrendous. I really didn't want to take it there so I Googled jewelry repair in Westerville and came across Westerville Jewelry and gave them a call.
I spoke to Ed who was very nice and compassionate and suggested I bring it in for him to look as he has an excellent jeweler for repairs that recently fixed a gold ring from a similar disposal incident. HOPE!!!! I immediately traveled to the store and was greeted very warmly and showed Ed my ring. I could tell his eyes were saying "Oh boy, this is pretty bad."
Ed looked the ring over from all angles and then said, "I have to be honest with you. This is really damaged and complicated with all the intricate work and this black composite or enamel. I really don't know if this can be fixed. The damage is to some pretty detailed spots."
I asked him to please try and he said he would but then made sure I knew it may come back un-repaired OR if it is repaired the process of heating the silver may damage the other details on the ring. I agreed since whatever they could do would be better than what it was now!
I was SHOCKED when Ed told me it would be done in a WEEK! It took Tiffany's 8 weeks to fix a very simply defect of my other ring!
All week I was worried Ed would call and tell me the bad news that it just could NOT be done. It never came. Then this afternoon, just as Ed promised, he texted me to let me know the ring was restored and with his examination it looked great!
I went to the store as soon as I could and picked it up. When he handed it over to me, I too was amazed. The ring just looks like normal wear and tear which wouldn't be unexpected from a ring that is almost 10 years old. There is virtually no indication at all of the damage. Not only that it's sparkling and polished like new!
I cannot thank Ed and his master jeweler enough for the happiness they brought me today. It's indescribable.
I won't take a repair item like this to anyone other than Westerville Jewelers any...
Read moreTerrible service. Told nothing but lies here. Brought in a watch to get repaired as the date didn’t change. Was told 2-3 weeks for a quote. Took 4 months. Checked in numerous times in that time frame and was always told I would get a call back. Never did. I’m pretty sure the watch got sent out after being told everything was in house. Once I finally received my quote, I just asked to have the watch put back together as it wasn’t worth fixing. I was told I would be able to pick it up the following week. 2-3 weeks pass and I get a call again about the watch going over the quote. The quote ended up being even more expensive saying that they found that the date didn’t change. That is why it was more. THIS WAS THE WHOLE REASON I BROUGHT MY WATCH IN. At this point I didn’t even think I was going to get my watch back or where it even was. Finally it got put back together. Was told initially the son does all of the watch repairs. When I picked it up, I got a spiel about how he owns numerous building and has numerous watchmakers. Nothing adds up here....
Read moreHad our first experience with Westerville Jewelers and can't say enough great things about them. We had started looking for a specific piece of jewelry with some of the larger chains in Columbus and were unsuccessful and were told that ordering the piece would take possibly 8 weeks. So we turned to Google for other area jewelers to try. Thank God that Westerville Jewelers came up. They had options in the store, larger then the chain jewelers, and a catalog that provided us with exactly what we were looking for. We ordered from them and had the piece in 3 days. To top that off I brought a watch in with me to have sized and he took care of it on the spot. I highly recommend anyone in the market for jewelry to make this your first stop and you will find that you won't need to...
