Update: I’ve seen the business’s response to my review and want to clarify a few things, since they’ve chosen to respond with personal attacks and misleading statements rather than professionalism. • Both of us went into the shop to place the order. I returned alone to pick it up. We both ate a bite of the pizza and shared the experience, which is why we both felt compelled to leave reviews. • The pizza was greasy, bland, with barely any sauce, and the crust was tough. That’s not a personal attack — it’s honest feedback on the food. • When I asked if they had paper plates, the reply was, “You just eat off the box lid,” said in a way that came across as curt and unwelcoming — not at all as friendly as they’re now claiming. • After two bites, we couldn’t continue eating. I went back in, explained politely that we didn’t enjoy it, and asked if a refund was possible. I was told no, which I respected, but any further attempt to explain my concerns was brushed off. • The claim that I caused a scene, yelled, or made threats is completely false and exaggerated. I told them I’d be leaving a review — which is my right as a paying customer — and I did so. • Saying I should be “recorded and embarrassed online” for giving an honest review is completely inappropriate and unprofessional. I don’t expect every business to offer refunds, but I do expect a basic level of respect and accountability. Attacking a customer for their opinion says far more about how this business handles feedback than anything else.
Really disappointing experience. The staff was consistently rude throughout our visit and became even more dismissive when we raised concerns. The pizza was nearly inedible—tasteless, overly greasy, barely any sauce, and the crust was tough and chewy. They don’t accept cash or provide receipts, which was very unprofessional.
If you're from out of town, don’t expect basic amenities like paper plates—you’re expected to eat off the pizza box lid. After just two bites, we asked for a refund but were rudely refused because it “cost them money to make.” I understand that, but a good business stands behind its product. When we explained the issue, they insisted they’ve never received a bad review before and showed no interest in making things right.

I shared my experience to help prevent other potential customers from getting REALLY rude service & REALLY bad pizza. I am now thinking that the reason Dicarlo's does not give you a receipt, even when asked, is so they can state you were never there. I took 1 bite & Hannah (SEE HER REVIEW) took 1 bite & then she brought the pizza back in for a refund. Between the rudeness from Dicarlo's & the tough & tasteless pizza we did really deserve a refund. They do not give refunds. I did bring the pizza home to my dogs, unfortunately they wouldn't eat it either, which was actually surprising. The reason I left my original review was to help someone else avoid a horrible experience. I appreciate being able to read about other people's experiences good & bad to make my decisions on places ro try. The way we were attacked in Dicarlo's response was the same attitude they had when we first walked in to order. We almost walked out but I had seen the jars of what looked like homemade sauce being sold & thought if we left we may end up missing out on some extremely delicious pizza. I unfortunately was very wrong!
Last time we were in Westerville we seen the outside of this little pizza shop but it was closed. We were looking forward to coming back to try it. The 2 "gentleman" that were working were extremely rude. We still had high hopes for the actual pizza. It was absolutely one of the worst pizzas we have ever had. We both had 1 bite & it was so gross that my daughter nicely asked for a refund. The men working inside yelled at her. I wish that I had read the reviews. If you are from out of town go across the Street to North Star. They have an amazing flat bread & their salads & service...
Read moreIf you have ever watched The Bear on FX that is what Football Friday Night was like last night at DeCarlos. It was a serious $h1t show. I ordered two, two cuts and two bottled waters. I gave them my name they told me when my Pizza would be done. It was done on time they called the name and myself and someone else with the same name stepped up. The box looked like mine and I said I think they one is for me and the scolded me and said it was not. The other person left for the patio and 3 minutes later came back because they had the wrong order (no kidding). My wife who was outside said other customers came out looked at their order like it was wrong then at it anyway (tons of customers everywhere). So I waited and waited and finally asked it I was still on the list. They said NO they had two people with that name and I was no longer on the list. They put me back on the list again about 45 minutes in waiting for just two two cut slices. In the interim the box of the client who had the wrong order was taken back to the kitchen. So they realized I am still waiting and suddenly my box comes out. They leaned over and told me they messed up I could have a free soda.. I open the box and my pizza is cold (I realize how they make the Pizza fresh provi and pepperoni, I am not a fist time client, the dough and sauce was cold) and I realize I probably have the box that was brought back after someone else had already opened it (disgusting). Free soda? How about my money back? I would give them a one star, but it is like The Bear, I ended up with a completely bad experience, but when it’s done right here it’s excellent. Avoid Friday home...
