i would like to say 1st that i am very happy with the quality of work and the cleanliness of this business. I used to go here years ago before the original owner sold it. I had a very bad experience with the people who bought it from her. I was looking for a place near by and googled "the best nail salon in 80021" Venus was at the top of the list. There was a lot of pics for nail art and the reviews were very good. So i decided to give the place a 2nd chance. It struck me as very clean and also they were following health guidelines, which made me feel very safe. There were some problems. Even though i tried to engage in conversation they (Tiffany, Ben & I never was told the woman's name who did my pedicure) seemed to want to only speak to each other in Vietnamese. Since me and one other person were the only people in the place it did make me feel uncomfortable. It is natural to feel as if people are speaking about you if you can not understand them. Regrettably they made no effort to make me comfortable in this regard. I enjoy speaking with the person who is doing such a personal service. They had a menu of services and prices for their pedicure services. And was able to accommodate me with a paraffin treatment that was added to the service package i wanted. When i asked multiple times for a menu of nail services, it fell on deaf ears. I asked Ben what a full set would be he says $45, then I ask Tiffany and she says $50. I ask what a nail design would cost and i am told i would have to show them what i want 1st. One of the main reasons I chose this place was because of the beautiful nail art on the web site. They had nothing to show me to choose from and really gave me the feeling they were not very good at designs. I ended up just putting a couple of little hearts (done with a dotter, literally 3 dots made the heart ) you can see the pics below. When it came time to pay She wanted to charge me $7 for this design. I did complain and she lowered it to $5, but i felt like i was ambushed since she never told me what she was going to charge for the design. What bothered me is I spent alot of money had full services (full set, spa pedicure w/ paraffin and french polish) and would have gladly paid for a design had it actually been a real design. I felt like i was being nickeled and dimed at the register. I can not emphasize enough how clean the place was, how much i love the workmanship of the nails and pedicure. But i will think twice before i go back. I felt uncomfortable with the language barrier and that they made no effort to stop. The pricing needs to be addressed. Have a menu for nail services so a customer can choose before the...
Read moreThis was a walk in Appt. As I was looking around the salon having quite a few gals getting beautified by techs with smiles on their faces some making small talk with each other, some just relaxing. A gal came to me asking if I had an Appt I said no this is my first time in she informed me everyone was helping their clients it would be about 25 min before they could get to me as they don’t want to rush those they’re with either. I said that’s doable, she then gave me a pamphlet where I can choose which pedi and mani I’d like as they had quite a few to pick from. All in the price range of the salons around the area. She then offered me water or a pop, then returned to her client who did reach out telling me she’d been coming to the salon for a lil over a year and loves this place. Soon after that a gal comes to me and takes me back for my pedi. I believe I waited maybe 10 min tops. My tech smiling friendly she knew exactly what I was wanting she wasn’t rough when handling my feet (and I’ve had some) she did a great foot leg massage. I went with a teal cat eye and she got it spot on even on those tiny toes (pics don’t do justice) when she was finished she helped me over to another gal who would be doing my mani. I was hoping I could go with the same teal cat eye only in a French tip, once again my tech pulled it off not only did she do the most amazing job but she did this one nail by one nail. I’ve been to many salons, many where the techs talk among themselves and not to the clients, this salon takes on the clients first hand communicates with you along the way asking you if this is ok, is this the correct length, is this the look you want, is this too hot/cold? Now about the salon itself: it’s clean, you don’t have that heavy nail smell, the lighting isn’t bright bright, like a hospital. The music is comforting. This salon is set up to be relaxing inviting and friendly they make it a priority to care for everyone they serve. As a first time customer I do give them a 5 star review which I don’t give out often. I also do not usually see this many women in a nail salon at one time so some advice MAKE AN APPOINTMENT BEFORE YOU PLAN ON GOING JUST INCASE...
Read moreWorst nail service ever!!!!! This was my second time in this salon. Went in for a rebase and pedi. When i arrived i was handed over to Apple who had done my nails the time before. I showed her the nail design i was looking to do this time. It was very hard to understand her but from what i understood she could do and would require a new set of nails which i said ok to. Then however when we sat down to do nails (after pedi) she did rebase only, whispering something to me i didnt understand when questioned, and then the job she did was horrible. It looked nothing like what i asked for, and thought was agreed to. When i commented with concern over how they looked she said thats cause its ombre so its not even. Thats how they should look. I went ahead and paid for service and tipped for the pedi i was happy with (pedi was done by a different nail tech) thinking maybe i just needed time to adjust to the new nail design. It didnt however change and after closer inspection i can say this is the worst nail job i ever recieved. There is no consistency in texture, color or shape. Shelac top coat is uneven and completely missing in spots. I have received negative comment after negative comment from peers who see my nails about how horrible they look and i should get my money back. To make things worse after loolking at receipt i found Apple charged me for a full set of nails when she only did rebase! I feel robbed and taken advantage of by this salon and will never use them again!! See image of nail design i asked for and then the following images of the horrible nail job i actually recieved. It is unthinkable a nail salon would allow a customer to walk out their doors with their nails...
