I've gone to this theater for about 20 years and never really had a problem with it until tonight.
I purchased a voucher for two discounted movie tickets from a film production company. The company's website listed theaters that accepted the voucher. Pascack was on the list. However, when I arrived at the box office, the girl refused to take them and got rude with me right off the bat. I told her the website said they accepted them and even showed her on my phone. She rudely said she didn't care, and she would not take them. I asked to speak with a manager, but there was not one on duty (on a weekend night, the busiest time for a movie theater? doubtful.). She then told me I had to pay her in cash if I wanted to see the movie...despite the fact that the theater would get the money from the voucher.
Honestly, if she were not totally rude, I wouldn't be as angry as I am. She then proceeded to do the same thing to two other people standing in line. With that attitude, she can keep the tickets. I will not set foot in this theater again, and, while I usually support independent establishments like this one, I hope they go out of business. I work in customer service, and I know that there's absolutely no reason to treat a customer with that type...
Read moreI would have rated this theater higher if it wasn’t for the fact that the owner seems to talk down to the kids working there. The older gentleman seems rude and does not know how to speak to his employees even the manager (who was very professional) seemed bothered by the his tone. He was telling a girl at the concession stand to come out from the behind the counter and hand out peppermints to the people leaving the theater. I don’t think the request was the issue but rather the way he was talking to her and pointing at her. The girl handled her self well but you can see she was going to break down so I went over and told her that she was doing a great job and just forget about the owner, he needs to learn how to talk to people. Hopefully this gets read and the girls parents get to know that their daughter is tough but shouldn’t be taking grief from this man. And to the owner please learn how to speak to your staff, if there is an issue then speak to your staff privately not out in the open.
So overall review: Staff : 5 stars Clean theater: 4 stars Comfortable chairs: 4 stars Pricing: 4 stars Owner behavior: -3
Maybe next time the experience...
Read moreAbsolutely terrible experience. No one monitoring theatres. A bunch of young kids running on the stage and talking disrespectfully to everyone in theater. Taking pictures with flash, playing videos and commentating the whole movie. Have to go see movie at another establishment in order to know what happened with movie. Went downstairs to look for manager and there was absolutely no one around...we called the phone number and manager said he was there all night and he suggested that we should've known where the manager office was on the second floor and should have come complain to him. He knew the kids were unruly but no one complained to him and he didn't have time to check the theater they went into... the group of kids (at least 13 kids) went in and out.of theater 3 times on the second floor so not sure how he couldn't hear. There was a general indifference to our issue... the kids apparently come every night but they are the only.ones in the movie theater he said... well we Won't be back and not sure how the business can be sustained when all the people who want to see the movie are forced to...
