I recently had a conversation with Sarah, the owner of the grooming business, and it turned out to be quite different from what I expected. As a proud owner of a Dutch Malinois, which is a trained service animal, I was hoping to schedule a drop-in visit to help him get accustomed to the facility and the staff. This breed is known for its loyalty to their handler and relies heavily on a strong sense of trust, especially during grooming sessions.
During our chat, Sarah expressed her worries about her daughter, a dog trainer, who had been bitten by a dog. She mentioned that certain breeds, particularly those that are short-haired and less common, are not typically serviced. This is relevant since we’re looking for nail trimming for my dog.
Although Sarah boasts 38 years of experience, she couldn’t provide any referrals for groomers in the area who could work with my Malinois. She suggested I check her reviews, and I believe it’s essential to accurately represent her and her business. I found her listing in the Yellow Pages, but I noticed she lacks a website, which I think the community should be aware of.
While I appreciate that she does not sedate dogs for nail trimming, I did have some concerns about the noise level in her shop. She seemed to presume my dog would be reactive and aggressive just because of his breed, despite having never met him. This assumption felt quite unfair, and I believe it’s crucial for businesses to better understand individual dogs and their...
Read moreI am leaving a five star because I don’t believe knocking a business down just because it doesn’t work for me or my pooch(unless safety of course.)
The prices are fair from what I can tell and they do walk in dog nail trimmings 9-4 Tuesday through Saturday I believe. The people were nice. It just wasn’t the best environment for me and my dog. She can be a little nervous when grooming and I prefer something that isn’t so open and can see all the other dogs. When I went there was a very nervous loud dog(no fault of them) but mine was so nervous I was worried to hand her over for the nail trim. I prefer a groomer that has more rooms instead of one big one. Just wanted to add this in case people were looking for somewhere and there dog may be reactive or nervous of other dogs. If your dog is socialized and chill this is a perfect place.
Otherwise- it was convenient, fair priced, clean and they...
Read moreMORE THAN EXCELLENT! Sara and company have been at this forever, so long experience. Great customer relations, extremely professional, excellent prices. The tub's shower nozzle is also a massager; my dog loves the massage she gets by water and Sara's just right hands during the bath. The very fine dog Jenna comes away from her visit with No extra post bath shedding after the massage bathing and careful blow dry! Note: they also groom cats. Further Note: when you're going for the first time, look for a shop in a small strip mall; Sara never got around to purchasing that cottage she dreamed about back in the early days, so don't expect your GPS to lead you to a cottage... Right next door is a dog trainer place that also might be...
