Salsas Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Wheat Ridge

Salsa's is probably my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Denver area (And that's quite the accomplishment, seeing as how we have awesome Mexican restaurants!)

If I ever move out of the Southwestern US, I would REALLY miss our Mexican restaurants! Coming from a family that connoisseurs Mexican food like there's no tomorrow even though we're not Mexican, I feel as if I'm a pretty good judge of the matter. We've also been eating here every sunday for years as a tradition.

The thing I love about Mexican food is all the different kinds. You can go to a different one each day of the week and have seven totally different styles of Mexican food.

But that being said, Salsa's tastes authentic, but not too greasy, not too spicy, but not bland. Their green chile is a huge deal in Colorado, and I think Salsa's has the best! They also have good salsa (hence the name) because it's flavorful and spicy, but not too spicy that I can't enjoy it.

A dining secret is that I've found Mexican restaurants to have THE BEST french toast! You'd never guess it otherwise, but I've had awesome French toast at Mexican restaurants, and Salsa's is my second fave. (The Monterrey House in Arvada is my #1 for French toast!)

I think that salsa's is a great middle ground between all the different kinds of Mexican...

SALSAS IS FEEDING DOCTORS AND NURSES AT LUTHERAN! My restaurant heros! While I'm complaining, they were already in ACTION-FEEDING OUR HOSPITAL. Please call and order some! Salsas will never ask, too nice, and you can trust them to TURN YOUR MONEY INTO HEALTHY FOOD FOR DOCTORS AND NURSES. It is just too bad that no one can hug them!, THANK YOU SALSAS!

Not best Mexican food in town....BEST FOOD IN TOWN PERIOD! They have all kinds of food. My stomach is very, very sensitive and if I don't get some "STREET TACOS" soon, I will probably starve. Yes they have amazing combo deals, #4!, But everything comes ala carte. AUTO IMMUNE DISEASE. I HAVE BEEN QUARANTINED SINCE WU-HAN. THE ONLY WAY IVE EATEN HERE IS TAKE OUT. TAKE OUT FROM SALSAS IS SAFE, AND FABULOUS. I bet they would even make me those tacos for breakfast....yum.

GREEN CHILI- I cant believe I forgot this: I used to buy burritos from this ancient couple that did not speak English. Ever since then I have searched the city for something that had that true authentic flavor. FINALLY, GREEN CHILI THAT TASTES LIKE GRANDMA MADE! Nothing like it anywhere. I have been here a few times before and it is normally pretty good, like 4-5 star good. But..tonight i was extremely disappointed with their food. I ordered Chili Rellenos to go and sat while it was cooked. Didn’t check it until I got home 5 minutes later to eat it. I always order soft Chili Rellenos which are battered in whipped egg whites and then the yolk is folded in, battered and then fried. But tonight they cooked some type of omelette and wrapped it around a chili that had barely any cheese it it. This is the exact reason why I normally cook this dish myself. I’ve had this dish here before and it was not prepared the way it was tonight. My husband had the shredded beef crunchy tacos, which again we’ve had here before, and the beef was dry with hardly any flavor. I want to love this place because of my love of Mexican food especially Chili Rellenos. Maybe they were having an off night or the chef was new. I hope the owner sees this post so they can address the problem. I know for a fact that they took a short cut with the Rellenos....
