Cait specializes in shags, which is a dream come true for any alternative baddies, but she also helped me with a color correction from a vibrant color I could no longer maintain (red -- IYKYK) to lived in spicy cinnamon perfection! I was blown away by how flexible & accommodating Cait was, and the cherry on top is her amazing personality! Cait is one of those people you could talk to about anything & nothing for hours which, thank god, because hair sometimes takes hours to do. I've really struggled with my hair in the past, both because it's something I've felt disconnected from while simultaneously feeling like it ruled over a lot of my self-confidence. I loved being a vibrant red girly while I could make it last, but Cait helped me find my happy mid-point with more life than my natural color could offer, but something I'm able to maintain on my timeline & budget. I felt right at home from the moment I sat in her chair (maybe it was the crystals at her station & overall perfectly homey aesthetic of the salon, but I digress) & it only got better from there! Getting your hair done is intimidating, especially when you're an introvert with sensory issues, but with Cait it feels like hanging out with your big sis getting a makeover & by the time the appointment is over it's like mom came to pick you up from the sleepover -- I wanna keep hanging out with my girl! Alas, I must allow my stylist to grace the rest of her clientele with her magic. Thankfully, I'm able to keep up with Cait on socials so I don't have to go through withdrawals, and it only makes me love her even more because I get to witness what an incredible human Cait is in & out of the salon! Aside from being an insanely talented & versatile stylist, if you need the best recommendations for the best small businesses to add to your list after your appointment, want to know how to support the groups that need it most, or need resources on how to take care of you & your loved ones, Cait is for the people & keeps the information flowing! It's one thing to have a safe space to restore your confidence when you're getting your hair done, but it means so much more knowing that isn't just limited to the salon & builds so much more confidence knowing there's good energy behind it, and my wallet doesn't hurt as much because I can not only be sure that my hair will slay, but that I'm supporting a small business & great people in the process. Salon Hendrix is such a cute place! I loved the ambiance inside and all the little details that make a salon so nice and welcoming - like serving coffee and wine, a huge plus! My amazing stylist is Victoria who is an absolute master at her craft and always takes such great care of me. Being a natural redhead I was super apprehensive to have to touch up my hair due to greys coming through. Luckily, Victoria knew exactly how to handle it and how to put me at ease in the process. The first time coloring my natural hair was a huge success as she just added to my natural color and helped to make it vibrant again by adding color based on the natural tones in my hair - I was blown away by how much I instantly loved it! Okay, I don’t go to salons often, I’m not one to get pampered in that way but I was itching for a change. My hair was brown, dull, and boring.
