Incredibly unethical and poor business daughter (Brittany) and mother running this child's shop! Soon after they bought and opened, I dropped off a pick up load full of neatly folded and organized into 30 gallon totes of infant and toddler gently used and like new clothes and devices. I waited for a call to hear what they would use for resale and to collect my belongings they rejected. A week later, when the call never came I called Brittany. She reported that there was a problem with my phone number in reaching me (which there was not because it was my business phone that is used multiple times on a daily basis), but stated she didn't bother calling my cell phone also on file. She stated that they had held the items longer than they like to and I stated I would be by as soon as I could on Friday after work. When my doctor's office ran over due to an emergency, I was unable to arrive or call before they closed-- so I arrived on Saturday morning at their opening time. Brittany proceeded to tell me she had donated all my items the night before but would return a few items. Of the items she did keep, she said it was only $35 worth. When I expressed some frustration in this and her lack of informing me of their "drop off policy" and failing to mention ANY of this on the phone, the mother standing nearby became extremely unprofessional, poor verbal and body language of aggression when I asked to see the receipt for the donation to Good Will. She reported that I was not allowed to.
I took the remainder items to Kid-to-Kid in Arvada and got $45 for those alone.
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND ENERGY BOTHERING WITH THIS UNETHICAL MOTHER-DAUGHTER COMBO. They are dishonest, and keep or donate your items and collect the donation receipt on YOUR items to turn in as a TAX WRITE-OFF. Very poor representation of the town of Wheat Ridge's small business owners. Very Disappointed. THEY EVEN KEPT MY 4, 30 GALLON TOTES !!... ($11.50 each value alone) STAY FAR AWAY!
Post 2: In return to the response posted from owner below, there is a lot that is again untrue . There was no information warning my items would be donated if I was 1 day later than I said due to an emergency. A donation wasn't mentioned at all. Furthermore, the mother owner specifically stated "Good Will Donation" that day- that is why I requested to see the receipt and she answered I wasn't allowed because there was a lot of other items donated together. (I truly hope owners have changed their ways and donate only to those in need and not collect tax write offs, since this day.) I would also think if only 5-10 items were donated out of 4 -30 gallon totes stuffed full, one would also be offered more than $35. The phone that was in fact not working, was the owners new business phone- not mine. I felt the need to post about the manner in which I was treated all this time later because people have a right to know who they are supporting. Yes, word of mouth is everything. -To know if one is going to be held to a policy written on an 8x10 invisible paper because piles of sorting and clutter were stacked in front of the sign and then were verbally uninformed properly is good to know. Secondly, when there was a chance to make it right and retain a loyal customer who'd been coming into the store for years with the old owner, I was addressed in a very rude manner and no means of trying to make things right - that is not what owning a small neighborhood business is all about. Unacceptable. I was raised to right a wrong and NEVER use someone as a means to an end, and I very clearly was on several accounts in this interaction. Thank you owners, for the offer to replace my 4 kept totes (without permission) and now offer the receipt but no thanks. You must need them more than I. My intent was to share so these friendly folks around here can make an informed decision. My intent was not to receive a non-genuine apology and offer from owner. Peace has been said and forgiveness happening. I hope you learn as much as I have from this...
Read moreSo to start, I brought in a Chicco napper pack n play. This was in great condition. They literally offered me $15 cash. I asked them if I could come by the next morning, (figuring they called me with an offer at 4:15 and they close at 5) and the lady was rude and says “you know if I am not keeping this it does take up a lot of space at my store I’ll need you here pretty early in the morning then” WHAT A JOKE. This is a pack n play that BREAKS DOWN into a small rectangle like they all do. What a huge space waster hahaha.
*Then I decided to go in and just get the cash because I am sick of the pack n play in my closet. I arrive to the store and literally have to walk to the back and all around trying to find a worker inside. It was empty. No one was inside. I waited about 6 minutes, then finally decided to call the store and maybe someone would come out, so I called the store and the lady was out walking her dog outside
If that’s not bad enough already.....
The lady literally follows you around the store every time you are in there, yelling at your kids constantly to stay away from the dog, (she says it’s not the nicest and old) which then leads me to wonder why the heck an unfriendly DOG is again in a CHILDS store.
Also, I don’t think it’s appropriate confronting the kids every single time they touch a TOY, my children are super well behaved and she literally follows/chases them around.
THIS IS SUCH A POORLY RAN...
Read moreIf there was an option for zero stars that is what I would give this business. I am completely shocked by my experience at Kidz Corner today. I have never been treated so poorly by a business in my life. I have been consigning with them for over a year and until today have had a good experience. I dropped off a wooden play kitchen 2 weeks ago, had a conversation when I dropped it off with the women about how cute it was and how fast it would sell. She agreed and remembered our conversation. Today when I went in the check on my items she went to look it up and it wasn’t in my inventory. It quickly became my fault that there could have been a mistake when entering it or selling it under the wrong customers name. She repeatedly told me I must have sold it somewhere else and told me to leave the store with all my other items and made VERY nasty comments as I was walking out. Wow! Just wow! I would strongly reconsider consigning with this poorly managed business and incredibly rude women. They have a very poor process for inventory and you will have way better luck selling on FB marketplace. Trust me! Lastly, this is not about the money either. It’s about being treated...
