Part of Kirby Park and the dike system. Park has boat launch into the Susquehanna, and a long flat section with large old trees. Great views of the Courthouse and Market Street Bridge. Frisbee Golf as well.
Admittedly, the place is a cruising spot as well, but that is limited to the entrance area it seems. Plus the people are harmless; and it seems like they stay in their cars or take a walk on the trail up river.
Have been told the trail is a very nice one, will need to check it out. Walk from here until the one soft 'end' of the dike near the Cross Valley. A short 3 block walk through Forty Fort will reconnect you to the dike trail. ...or if you went the opposite direction you will take the dike downriver through Kirby Park and into Edwardsville.
