This is a beautiful addition to the city. The views of the river, courthouse, and Market street bridge are spectacular. The biggest thing lacking in this are is outdoor spaces and trees so we are lucky to have this. I've only been here during the day or the evening concerts in the summer but it seems like a fairly safe area. There is a police presence during events. Not so much during normal times but there are typically enough other people nearby to feel safe. A few more seating areas, garbage cans, and perhaps some drinking fountains and restrooms along the paths would greatly improve the usefulness of the commons but I understand the lack of amenities to be a result of the areas over the top heroin problem. Overall I would recommend this area to anyone looking for some fresh air and or greenery!

Great place and the concerts are a great thing. Scranton needs to do stuff like this . I wish they had more concerts scheduled. Why are there no shows in August and September? Even if just local cover bands or book some of the tribute acts that Mohegan sun books. It's an awesome thing to have concerts here for free

Rockin' the River 2023 was our first time at River Common in Wilkes-Barre. It was beautiful! We enjoyed the food trucks, music, and atmosphere, but the park itself is lovely. The park river commission did a great job of making sure guests were safe near the water edge, too.

I went to Rockin the River with Stevie Nick and Fleetwood Mac, it was a great atmosphere and the scenery could be unmatched with the sunset in the back, but it most all went downhill from there, from my friend being restricted from using a port-a-potty because it was only for police and security use when there were no signage on the stall, and then losing my cell phone, reported to 3 security members, neither one radioed anyone else, went down again to the spot we sat at, still nothing, and I placed a security alarm on the device and message to call...a guy came out of the trailer and stated would someone answer this phone?...I wont state what was being said from security (due to respect) but it wasn't nice and I just brushed it off

I think security and police really need to step up their business acumen and fairness to the public cause that was the worse I've...

Where is the handicapped parking lot ? 10,000 feet away behind the courthouse? Why must people in wheelchairs be expected to be able to push their chairs an extra 1/4 mile to get around this place or get to it? There is zero handicapped parking close to this area.

The parking across the street is private. Who certified this place as ADA compliant?

Also to get down by the river in your wheel chair you again must go 1/10th of a mile out off the main path just to be able to get to the bottom fishing area.

GOD FORBID you are handicapped here in Luzerne County.

Also across the river in the Kingston side again no handicapped accessible to get to the paths or down by the boat launch area. Unless you park far away and drag your wheelchair...
