Iāve been a loyal customer of Burrito Loco for yearsāsometimes coming multiple times a weekāand Iāve always raved about the food and service. The young man with braces is consistently friendly and gives 10/10 service with a smile, and the older lady who serves is a true sweetheart. But the younger girls, especially the ones with glasses, consistently make the experience uncomfortable. Every time weāre waited on by them, we feel like a burden rather than a welcomed customer.
Tonight was the worst service weāve had yet. We were overcharged, and when we calmly brought it up, the waitress spoke to us in a condescending tone and acted as though we were wrongāuntil she realized we werenāt. No apology, just attitude.
She also pushed a Mangonada on usāsomething theyāre apparently promoting. My sister took one sip, didnāt like it, and politely asked to return it. Instead of offering a solution or letting her keep the drink, they threw it away and told her sheād still be charged because she ādrank it.ā They could have let her take it home or offered a small gesture, but instead, the waitress was rude about it.
Then we were charged for a side that has always been included with the kidsā meal. Iāve been coming here for years and have never been charged for it. When I questioned it, I was met with more disrespect, eye-rolling, and a dismissive attitude.
The girlās body language screamed impatience the entire timeārolling her eyes, rushing us, and making us feel like we were bothering her just by being there. As we were leaving, she laughed loudly with her coworkers in a clearly petty and mocking way. Thatās when I said I wouldnāt be coming back. Her response? Laughing again and saying she didnāt care.
Let me be clear: itās not about the side charge or even the overcharge. Itās the way we were treated. After years of loyalty, respect, and positive word-of-mouth from me, this was insulting.
Burrito Loco, please reevaluate your front staff. Good food only goes so far when your customers are being treated like a nuisance. Weāre extremely disappointed, and after tonight, we wonāt...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe arrived at Burrito Loco at 6:15 on a Saturday night and found plenty of seating available. The decor is overwhelmingly Mexican, with Mexican music heard throughout the restaurant. The servers greeted us with a smile and we're very sweet.
Burrito Loco isn't flashy like similar restaurants in the area, but it does provide more of an authentic cuisine. Their chimichangas are large and robust, and you won't be confused as to whether you're eating a chimichanga or an enchilada, like those served elsewhere. My steak chimichanga was spicy and flavorful, stuffed with steak and cheese. One could order it with melted cheese and red or green pepper sauce. The dish also came with sour cream, rice, and refried beans (the latter of which I omitted, as I'm not a fan of that particular side). I washed my meal down with Horchata, a sweet milk drink that's also hard to find in other local Mexican restaurants.
The La Gringa chicken taco was also delicious, with onions, cilantro, guacamole in a flour tortilla. Like the chimichanga, the meat was extremely tasty.
The establishment also has other dishes such as pizza, chicken tenders, and the like, but you would be doing yourself a serious disservice if you pass up on the traditional fare, which includes quesadillas, nachos, tostadas, and of course..burritos! I lived in El Paso and in southern Arizona, where Mom and Pop Mexican restaurants are almost on every block. Burrito Loco is the closest it comes to enjoying such authentic and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had a hankering for some good Mexican food, and a few nights before this visit, someone had mentioned Burrito Loco. Mind you this was my first visit here, so take that with a grain of salt.
I usually order something easy whenever I visit a place for the first time. The restaurant was packed with the table full of maybe 16 people and some more outside. Based on that, I opted to order food to go.
To me, something simple in terms of Mexican food implies tacos. I ordered the tacos with chicken, lime, etc. Don't get me wrong, the food was good, but the chicken was kind of dry and hard to eat. Again, my ranking is based on a single visit. I do plan to go back and try something else, maybe a burrito and eat inside. I'll update...
