The Valley's first 3rd wave coffee shop, and it's about time! When in visiting over the holidays I was craving some good coffee and was expecting the same old coffee situation I was used to growing up (Curry or Dunkin), and then I saw Abide on the map. One look at the espresso machine and I knew this was the spot. The coffee is excellent, and the barista was super friendly as well. We had to come back the next day for more before we flew out and ended up chatting with the owner for a good long while. It's a beautiful space and a much needed source of good coffee for the area. I had an espresso and a pour over and my girlfriend had the Snickerdoodle Lattee, everything was fantastic. Do yourself a favor and stop in here, great coffee and great people. 10/10 will be making this the usual stop when I'm back in town.

This coffeehouse is amazing! Not only did I buy a latte on 10/6 before going to the street fair they were hosting, but I later lost my wallet and someone brought it back here to the coffee shop. I spoke with Austin the co owner and he not only sent my wallet to me but included a box of goodies with it. I cannot even begin to explain what all of this meant to me. Austin truly is an angel to me and I will forever be grateful and never ever forget the thoughtfulness behind all of this. Truly an act of unforgettable kindness! Thank you just isn't enough! 🥰

I recently moved to the area and made it my mission to find a good coffee spot. Abide was, for sure, well out of my neck of the woods but I was close and wanted to stop in. It is the quintessential coffee hang out. The staff were super friendly and didn't mind my giving recommendations. The atmosphere was casual coffee house. It reminded me of a place I used to frequent in college with the same vibe. Everything was nice and clean and I mean .. how can you not absolutely love a place that serves a Nutella chai!

I wanted to support your business after I saw on social media the unfortunate news about the robbery. I have to say the ambience of the place was very nice. I loved seeing dogs inside, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.

I was really looking forward to trying your chai-turmeric latte. I got in line, and the very careless customer in front of me decided she would carry on a rather long conversation (not related to her order) with one of your employees. She could clearly see I was behind her because she looked a couple of times, and so did her daughter, and son, and she simply did not care. I was surprised nobody asked her to move aside so the person behind her, me, could place her order, especially when I got there at 6:35 pm and you guys close at 7 pm.... Believe me, I have been a cashier before and you can politely ask customers to do the right thing.

The woman finally moved aside, and your cashier greeted me and welcomed me after I said it was my first time there. I was handed my drink and the lid did not fit. I made a little bit of a mess on the counter, and I asked the employee (the cashier who was also making my drink) if there were any napkins. She simply said "I'll take care of that" meaning that she would clean the counter. She did not address my question about the napkins, and she did not acknowledge the struggle I was having with the lid.

I have worked in customer service/human services in different industries, and different countries, my whole life. There's something called "WOW" your customer, which seems to be dead nowadays.

On the brighter side, I have to say my drink was DELICIOUS!!! And I'd be back solely on the taste of the drink... Not so much the service. Hopefully, this...

This place is really nice, comfortable places to sit and have your drink. The staff is nice, and the drinks are awesome. I enjoy how they pair themselves with other businesses. Abide Coffeehouse is more than just a cozy spot to grab a cup of coffee - it's a vibrant community hub that brings people together through creativity, connection, and camaraderie. I've had the pleasure of attending several of their theme nights, and I must say, they're an absolute blast! From Open Mic Night, where local talents showcase their music, poetry, and storytelling skills, to Poetry Night, where wordsmiths gather to share their verse, and Game Night, where friends and strangers bond over board games and laughter - Abide's theme nights are a treasure trove of entertainment and enrichment. What I love most about Abide is its commitment to fostering a sense of community and inclusivity. The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming, making it easy to strike up conversations with fellow patrons. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about creating a space that's both comfortable and inspiring. Abide Coffeehouse is a true asset to Wilkes-Barre, and I hope they'll be around for a long time to come. If you haven't already, do yourself a favor and swing by Abide to experience the magic for yourself. Your taste buds, creativity, and sense of community will thank you!

Ok, so this one will be interesting... Passing through this place on the way to another and decided to give this place a shot. I really like it. Good people, great vibe, really neat space. The location is great for people watching. All good, and now for the interesting part...

Their espresso has that good, creamy mouth feel and flavor I like a lot. Great crema on top, too. The espresso itself starts tart, but still rich, and I love how it unfolds on the tongue. Soon behind the tart is a flavor almost like anise that lingers and then resolves into that sweet tart flavor most espressos have.

That anise taste is new to me. I can tell that this is unique and makes it special. I can tell this is a really good espresso. And, I don't know if I like that flavor or not. Objectively, this is good espresso. Subjectively, I'm trying to figure out what I think about this taste. It's a new one to me.

By all means, go here. Great place and great espresso . The special flavor is worth experiencing, for sure. If I lived closer, I'd be coming back several times to try and figure out what I thought...
