I have lived here for over 3 years now. You cannot trust a single one of these reviews. This staff does not care about you or even their own health. I had a friend who walked into the office to find them talking crap about her because they don't want to do their jobs correctly.
They failed to fix a work in in Sept '23. Which caused a leak in my closet and had been having mold issues ever since. Once it got into the ventilation I raised another complaint. They came to vacuum my vents and said there was no mold. Mind you, my shoes by the window had shoelaces covered in mold. I came down with bronchitis shortly after. Fast forward and the same switch that failed September last year failed again, causing a mini flood in my closet that made the mold just bloom. I have to throw out half my clothes, all of my books, and anything else I cannot douse in white vinegar in the washer because this mold is aggressive. And you cannot trust the dryers here either because moisture comes up the dryer vents leaving puddles of stinky water in the drum. Even clothing hanging and the carpet of my bedroom feel wet.
They dragged their feet to dry out and clean the mold and are acting like this isn't an issue or health hazard. They literally painted/caulked over after areas and new mold is growing through in two days.
When I asked when we can schedule me being moved, albeit sassy. They replied with an email saying I would need a whole other deposit and a transfer fee. Just a big"F" me basically. I just want to be in a habitable environment, and they do not offer that here. On top of this, I have neighbors with windows missing, who also have ventilation mold, or who also have dehumidifiers rated for 3000sq ft in these tiny not even 650sq ft.
I have heard fine things about other tribute properties where they don't switch the staff anytime an major issue is reported but...
Read moreMy wife received mail that we own them $700 after couple months of moving. Which does not make sense to me as I had paid off all the due balance before I handed the keys in. I have all the proof and documents proving I paid every penny before moving out. I am dissapointed that even after knowing my family health condition, this mess is created when I am not even in the country. I have always been paying the rent always on time. I never created hassle for apartment people. And still I have to face this mess when I come back from another country. I sent many emails and called them, but they stop replying after i sent notice of intent to vacate which has their signature and my signature along. I thought they realize their mistake and that's why they are not replying, but after month, I got call from NATALIE BURTON, their external collection agency request me to pay my collection. And again we explained everything to her and sent many emails with proof but she never reply on any of the emails or called back, so they can say in court that they never heard from us in case we file a lawsuit. We called Ms. Natalie Burton many times, but after sometimes, she started getting mad at us for calling her and told us to wait for reply from Birchwood. So we waited. Now we received letter from this natalie, stating we failed to provide them suitable arrangement and they processing our account on our credit history. Now my wife is tired and want to pay it off and done with it even thru we already paid all due balance before moving out. They think since it's only $700, we would give up but I will spend over $1000 on lawyer to drag this in the court but wont give them single penny. Also will be contacting Wilmington housing authority.
Please avoid this place at all cost if you dont want this mess...
Read moreHave only been here for about 3 weeks now, but we love it so far. Had one minor complaint brought up to the office staff and we felt like they really cared when they could have easily pushed it to the side and not bothered. That says a lot to me, personally. Staff is always kind and helpful, neighbors are quiet, people you see as you walk around are friendly. The apartments are a little older looking, and there's lots of wooded areas around, but we haven't had a problem with any appliances or bugs! I will update as we progress through the year, or eventually move out.
Update: We just renewed our lease, we still love it here! It's got to be the best apartment around for the price. It's not a 'perfect' place, but when you're on a tight budget like us, this is pretty darn close. Office and maintenance staff are just as friendly and caring for any issues or questions now as they were when we first toured the apartments. We do have a minor bug problem, which I hate to say because I love our apartment so much! We have some roaches that come in through small cracks in caulking/moulding, but we put out some traps and rarely see them anymore. They are prompt on any issue, and provide free pest control if you want their bug spraying services (which we use every blue moon as well as our traps). Sometimes neighbors can be loud, but it is an apartment complex, not a home, and I'm honestly surprised that I don't hear people more often. I thought with the price and how close it is to the colleges, that there would be more rowdiness. Thoroughly surprised by our quality of life this past year, and highly recommend...
