Went to the Avett Brothers concert. Contradictory information online. Azalea Festival information said chairs were banned and venue information said could bring chairs if seats only 9" above ground. Had to wait 40 minutes to go in and when at lawn seating people in front of us were smoking cigarettes, drunk, falling down and breaking chairs. They were loud and obnoxious, so distracting that we could not hear the music or enjoy the concert. I have one more set of tickets for a concert at Live Oak and after that I will think long and hard about returning. The venue needs to get organized and enforce smoking in...

Hard to beat a sunset over the Cape Fear river as you listen to some great music. Lots of great food trucks here and plenty of beverage stations. Views are pretty good throughout the venue and the Live Nation staff is awesome and they work to keep water coolers available for refillable bottles.
The Bad:
Current infrastructure leaves a lot to be desired - one set of bathrooms and then Porta potties on the other side of the venue. No water fountains and a canned water costs $5... plus the sound quality suffers past the sound tent...

Live Nation was running the show and would not allow hundreds of people to enter with camping chairs (you had to leave chairs taller than 9” and purses outside under the “watchful eye” of the Live Nation staff)…however, many others were allowed to enter with identical chairs. The place was oversold, nowhere to stand or sit (even on the bare ground). TERRIBLE experience…we left after one song, retrieved our chairs and listened to the rest of the show outside the gates....
