Only leaving one star just so I can leave this review. The food was beyond disgusting and flavorless. Went with 4 friends and only one of us was able to stomach their meal. I had the scallop risotto and you can till everything comes frozen. The texture of the scallops seemed like they would make me sick if I ate them. The risotto isn’t risotto, it was a pile of cream corn on a plate. So gross and weird. My friends steak was so horrid she had to send it back. She honestly was concerned if she ate it she would get worms…
We sat at the bar and the bartender was SOOOOO rude! After the tragic food experience, we needed shots before leaving. Ordered 2 at 9:59, she said “Can’t. We close at 10:00.” When my friend told her she couldn’t eat her steak she rolled her eyes and said “guess you need the manager” walked off. My friend that sent her steak back is the GM of one of the K38 group restaurants. She is beyond nice and understanding when it comes to this stuff. She never send food back. But this was bad. I took my food home so maybe my dog could eat it. I ended up just throwing it out because I was too afraid to feed it to him. Terrible and rude service. Absolutely disgusting food. I honestly don’t know how I’m the world this place is still in business. It’s beyond disappointing. I tried this place about a year ago for lunch and it was nasty back then too. I will never return. Saw Nikki, another employee on the way out. She’s very sweet and the only positive to the place.
I work in the restaurant industry. I have never left a review like this in my life. This place was so bad, I can’t NOT say something. I wish I never went and could be refunded. It was a waste of time and money. We then left and went elsewhere to eat. Ruined our whole night.
New update, as suspected, from the few bites I did take, I have food poisoning… I should have known better from everyone else I know that has told me this place was gross, my awful previous experience of terrible food and service, and how one of the other people that was supposed to attend canceled because he refused to eat there?!?! Yet I still made the poor decision to give it “another shot”. If ruining the night last night wasn’t enough, I’m still paying for it with constant vomiting from what’s clearly food poisoning. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! You want good food, go to any of Ash Aziz’s restaurants. You can’t go wrong with any place he owns and runs. I feel sorry for whoever owns this place. It’s food and staff is an embarrassment. I truly don’t know how it’s made it this long. Disappointing and...
Read moreI wanted to tell you what an awesome time we had at our company Christmas party on Friday. Everything was absolutely TOP-NOTCH! From the initial planning, setup, food, and especially the service. We could not be happier.
Emily was so great and easy to work with. She was attentive and efficient. Not to mention - delightful. She met with me to see the venue and discuss some thoughts and ideas. She walked with me through my vision and, with her experience and expertise, helped direct me to the party that worked best for our crew. Where we landed was perfect. This first point of contact and this position of an event coordinator is a large part of the decision-making process in which I will choose where to host a party. She was warm and helpful, and that sealed the deal. I'm sure you can imagine there are plenty of people out there that cause you to walk away feeling like you are a burden when, in fact, it is their job to help you. I never felt that way with Emily. She responded quickly to my questions and was able to offer direction and insight as we planned and was an absolute doll doing it.
The staff that night was also delightful. Will and Olivia were awesome! They were kind and helpful. It was clear they were not only good at what they did; they provided service with a smile and really enjoyed being there. They were on top of everything and really fun to have serving our guests. I even had a helpful gentleman by the name of Clayton greet me right through the doors when I first arrived. He asked right away if he could take my armful of gifts and carry them upstairs for me. I saw him later working diligently in the restaurant, cleaning and resetting tables when we left. That is the kind of employee that should NOT be overlooked. Emily, Will, Olivia, and Clayton are the heartbeats of your organization and are a large part of what makes people's experiences awesome and also brings people back.
The food choices were next level, and the food was delicious, hot, and replenished when needed.
The only thing I could say that was "lacking," and I will just leave this as a note, is some sort of PA system/microphone so that when parties need to address their group with a speech, it could be more easily heard. Even if it was just a portable speaker with...
Read moreMy friends and I took a Sunday roadtrip to Wilmington today. Stop by to have lunch by the riverside and came across this awesome place. They have indoor and outdoor sitting, we chose to sit outside right by the boats and small yachts by the, you guessed it, marina. We were seated immediately, of course they had Sunday brunch from 11am-3pm. Simple menu one page that had appetizers from a Lobster Bisque, Fried Shrimps, Crab dip, and a Tuna Nacho. Which by the way, we chose as our appetizer: the yellowfin tuna was fresh and caught earlier in the morning, according to our wonderful server, Alan. We loved that it was light and not overwhelming as the usual nachos everyone serves these days in their menu. The nacho chips were made from wonton wrappers, deep fried, but very light and airy, along with some shredded cajoti cheese, pickled vegetables, and a ponzu and siracha aioli. The spicy Tuna Nacho had s little kick to it, but it was so delicious. Two of my friends and I also ordered each a small bowl of their house salad, garnished with cornbread croutons and candied pecans and I chose their white wine vinaigrette. WOW! For a house salad to get a WOW! from me is liked getting a handshake from Gordon Ramsey! That's how good their house salad was. We also ordered their Shipwrecked Shrimp Tacos: you get 3 of these tacos in a soft flour tortilla filled with lightly fried medium sized shrimps marinated in their own house aioli with an Asian slaw that includes pickled veggies and pineapple and creamy shredded cajoti cheese. And of course one of my friends chose the Dill Pickle Chicken sandwich, but, she requested if she could have it with grilled chicken and instead of lettuce and tomatoes, she customized it with sliced avocados. I think with her cleaned plate said it all...it was delicious. Oh, and don't forget to try their drinks, we tried the Vodka Sunrise....perfect!!! Did I mentioned the beautiful view we had? And a shout out to our server, Alan!!!! Friendly, attentive, busy....he was in demand... and Awesome!!! Don't forget, if you come to Wilmington and want to eat by the river, that's the Cape Fear River, mind you....go check out Marina Grill on Harnett...
