I wish I could share a picture and my food experience, because honestly it probably would have made my review more positive if I actually had the chance to eat. Unfortunately, I never got that opportunity. My husband and I had a very rare date night with no kids. We headed in early (5pm ish) to beat the crowd. We walked into a half full restaurant and had no wait. The waitress immediately took our order and we watched the restaurant start to fill up. By 530 the entire restaurant was full, as expected for a Saturday night. As we were waiting for our food, we started noticing that people who got there after us were starting to get their food. We ignored it and continued to wait. 545 came around and a two top that had arrived 10 minutes after us had got their food, eaten it and were now asking for their bill.. and we still had no food. At this point, we'd only seen the waitress once to take our order and once to refill our waters. She never came by to acknowledge that we'd been sitting for 45 minutes with no food. My husband asked her if our food was coming out soon? And she said she'd check on it. She went back to the kitchen then came back out with the bill for the two top that had arrived after us. She made her way over to us and told us it would be a few minutes and that there were only 2 people in the kitchen. I explained that I understood, but it's also been 45 minutes. I continued, and said if something happened and they hadn't started making our food, just let me know and we'll just leave. She said ok, headed back to the kitchen and came out to run foor (to a table that had arrived a half hour after we did) rather than give us an update. We never did get our question answered, but my husband and I walked out around 5:55, which I have never done in my entire life. We really felt that waiting 55 minutes for 2 burgers and fries was extreme. If the kitchen really was backed up and other people were also experiencing the same issue, I would totally understand. But that just was not the case as the entire restaurant had food except us and the service to rectify the situation was definitely lacking. I was looking forward to a nice date night with my husband, but REALLY looking forward to that delicious burger that I ordered. Very...
Read moreWe arrived at 5:05 pm last night in plenty of time before the Tedeschi Trucks concert at Live Oak Bank Pavilion. Early enough to sit wherever we wanted and to order our food before the crowd poured in. We sat ourselves at the bar and ordered food 5 minutes later. There were 3 young ladies working: each taking drink and food orders from patrons as they entered Angus Grill. By 5:25, the place was full, including outside seating in the back. Given there were only 3 servers for the entire place, each spent every minute of their time individually filling drink orders from behind the bar and personally delivering them throughout the establishment. At 5:45, we looked around to see if anyone had food in front of them because we hadn't received ours yet. I walked towards the back near the kitchen and saw one table had food. I glanced at the kitchen and saw so much food lined up on the counter. One of the lady servers asked as she poured water, "Can I help you?" I told her we were waiting for our food as I pointed at the counter and she responded by saying "there's a lot going on here, We'll get to it." About 5 minutes later, our food arrived. The chicken sandwich and french fries were literally cold to the touch, We had ordered 45 minutes earlier and the food probably sat up on the counter for far longer than it took the cooks to prepare it. The food was so cold, we couldn't eat it and asked to send it back. The 3 servers just didn't have the opportunity to deliver anyone's food during the time we were there as they were all mobile bartenders. Suddenly, the food that had backed up on the kitchen counter all came out to the tables at once, as if a dam had busted open and water came barreling down. The really sad part was this little old lady standing at the far end of the bar with a Keno ticket in her hand waiting to purchase the game. She stood there the entire hour we were there, just waiting. Do yourselves a favor, do not attempt to eat here before an event at Live Oak as the owners still haven't figured out how to...
Read moreCalling in a Togo was weird. When I called somebody answered and just said “hello?” and then nothing else so I was a little thrown off and thought that maybe Google had the wrong number. So after saying hello again and just getting a “yes”? In response, I had to ask if this number was for Angus Grill to which I was told yes. So then I asked if I wanted to place a to go order and my order was taken over the phone without any issue. I ordered the black and bleu burger and made it a double with tots as my side and a grilled chicken Caesar wrap with fries as my side. The tots pretty standard, but the fries were definitely delicious. I enjoyed the size of the burger, but the chicken Caesar wrap was rather lacking (in size not taste). The entire wrap was comparable to the size of a small tv remote. Not a whole lot there. The presentation of the to go boxes was tidy. They wrap your side items in parchment paper so they aren’t just sliding around in a greasy takeout container. They also provided all the condiments I needed and some napkins which is always nice. My total for the two entrées was $30.33. I didn’t not get drinks, just the two sandwiches. I think the price is for the burgers are pretty standard, but I don’t think I could recommend anyone getting the wraps as I don’t think it matched the price tag. Overall, I think this is a pretty decent neighborhood...
