Having had a studio there for a short span of 6 months, I can tell you this - theArtWorks is full of wonderful, creative energies and a community of amazing artists and creators. It's an environment supportive of both personal and professional growth. A place with many resources for local artists and opportunities galore at your fingertips, should you decide to seize them. With a gift shop, gallery, show and market opportunities, and small business networking and resources, it's a creative oasis. I will forever be grateful for my time there. theArtworks is a great spot for those who like to get a taste of the awesome talent from the Wilmington area. the artists are so sweet and their studios boast some very cool and creative pieces. And Jim and Betsy, the owners, are great to work with. They really care about what they do and the space reflects that passion for art and creativity. Fourth Friday, which is the event they put on each month, is a fun time to visit, because there's live music, wine, and food. Most of the artists show up and have their studios open to the public to view. it's a nice atmosphere to discuss the works and to share in the area's love for art. My husband and I randomly came upon this place last year during a trip to explore Wilmington and we fell in love! We met and chatted with a few of the artists that work out of the space and it was as if we had been acquaintances for years. Some of the artwork here was so beautiful and compelling that it made me cry. We also were able to participate in a photography competition which was really fun.
