Block Taco — Restaurant in Wilmington

These are some of the best Tacos in Wilmington and really anywhere I have been in NC. For the size of the tacos they probably are just a bit pricey for the size of the taco because I can probably eat $20 worth of Tacos(4)😬. Outside of that the chicken, Asada and Carnitas are all excellent. I have been here several times and will keep going back. I do wish they offered diet soda. Only “non sugar” carbonated drink they have had when I have eaten there was flavored sparking water. The Nachos are a good price for what you get. They are the best Nachos I have tried so far in Wilmington. On Tuesdays you can get two tacos, chips and salsa for $10. Full menu is in my pics. On your left when facing the ordering counter there is a help yourself bar with sauces, cilantro, jalapeños etc… There are some seats just to the right of the ordering counter and to the left of the ordering counter down beside the building there are some larger nice tables. Stopped by Block Taco for a quick bite. I chose a fish taco with chips and queso along with some nachos as an appetizer. The fish taco was better than average, the queso was good, and the nachos were delicious. The prices here are really pretty good. The guys behind the glass are trying to keep everyone happy and they'll occasionally have a little fun with the poor people who are late in picking up their food. When you arrive grab a menu out of the box on the post, walk up to the window and place your order. Then, move out of the way while others are called to pickup their orders. When your order is ready they will call your name over the loud speaker/PA system. When you pickup your order you can add additional toppings at the toppings bar next to the pickup/order window. I’m literally so shocked at the treatment I received when I tried to purchase some gift certificates for Christmas gifts. As a local, I always want to support my local small businesses, but I will never again come to this establishment for anything. The gentleman that working pushed the door aggressively upon me + yelled at me that they didn’t open till 5 when I asked if I could purchase some gift certificates. I left in absolute disbelief and teary eyed. Later on, I called the restaurant to speak with management to share my experience + the lady said "I don’t care what you think". There was no apology for the actions of the gentleman. This makes me really sad. I’m sure many people love this establishment, but my experience was the worst experience of my life with a local business here in this town.
