The Second Glass — Restaurant in Wilmington

We just had the most wonderful experience at The Second Glass. We have been very apprehensive about eating at any establishment, even outdoors, due to COVID. We initially placed a take-out order and arrived to pickup our food. There was a little bit of a delay, and to make up for it the manager offered a couple of complimentary drinks while we waited. I told her we were hesitant to take our masks off, and she responded with such understanding. She showed us a table she had set up outside that was probably a good 12 feet or more from anyone else. She shared about their sanitation protocols and made us feel very safe and comfortable. So comfortable in fact that we decided to enjoy our food at the table rather than to-go. The food was incredible! As vegans, it can be hard sometimes to find options at fine dining restaurants. We enjoyed the mushroom pate, the vegan meatballs, and the vegan beet pistachio ravioli. She told us that they were also working on a vegan dessert to add to the menu soon. If you are looking for exceptional quality food, great service, and a relaxed, but hip sort of atmosphere, The Second Glass is the place to go. The wine list is HUGE and, most likely will accommodate most people's tastes. The Root Vegetable greens were bursting with flavor with a nice assortment of complimentary vegetables and a killer sauce I would love to get the recipe for. The stuffed acorn squash is terrific and so filling that we fell short of eating the entire portion. And, if you have room, the chocolate brownie with coconut ice cream is an excellent way to complete a delicious meal. My husband and I visited The Second Glass a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed our experience. We called ahead around 7 PM to place a reservation for outdoor seating. The woman we spoke with on the phone went out of her way to ensure they would have a table ready. When we arrived, we were seated right away at a quaint table outside. Our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations for both red and white wines. Their wine list is extensive and have so many options, I'm certain there's a wine for everyone here.
