Luis the technician is a great person and very professional. However I was not quoted appropriately by Karen and charged a rate per 1/2 hr for a 2 room and foyer paint job. I never received a written contract prior to the start of the job which led to miscommunication on pricing. I ended up paying $3000 for two days worth of painting n drywall work that is not close to half way finished and now have to finish myself because I am way over budget.
I recommend getting written documentation and a person to come to the property for a proper estimate before having Handyman do any work. I also recommend staying away from scheduling anything with Karen who is unprofessional as it can get.
Reply to 7/5: We also did not have a written contract and the job did not start until 6/27, a month later. This was a verbal conversation that left room for error. We did not discuss pricing again until Tuesday 6/28 when the project already started. The job was estimated to take 2 maybe 3 days tops from my understanding per Karen. It was recommended to send in pictures for a quote rather than have a tech come out for an estimate bc I would be charged a fee.
In fact I did not want my job to be completed as soon as possible. I was not available to have the job started until mid June or later. Karen also said you were booked out until June and that is why we made a start date of 6/27.
Karen and I also had a conversation on 6/30 about discrepancy in pricing and this is when their unprofessionalism took place. If she prides herself on providing excellent customer service then this conversation should have been a lot different hence her...
Read moreHave used them in the past for some odd jobs, with no problems. However, this most recent job left a lot to be desired. I received an estimate for some bathroom work. I paid them a 50% deposit and scheduled two dates for the work to be completed. At 642AM the scheduled date of service, I received a text saying they were working on another job, and if they could come between 11 and 12. Sure no problem. At 1245, they still didn't arrive, so I called to reschedule. I said I was told it was a 2 day job, you literally missed 5 hours of the first day, I don't want my bathroom under construction the entire weekend.
The next days that worked for us, was 12/30 and NYE (more than 2 weeks after the days they missed). I said, we have plans NYE, we'll just take a refund. I was told there are no refunds, which it states on the contract. Sure enough, it does say that. It also says, "Most importantly we guarantee our work, as well as getting your project done right and on time!"
I mentioned that missing an entire day of work is not completing the job on time, but apparently only the parts of the contract that benefit them are enforceable.
Be careful when you give them a deposit, especially a fairly large one, as you'll never get that money back and they can No Show on you without repercussion.
Also curious how they calculate their labor time. Was told it would be a 2 day job, but they completed it in 7 hours. Did I pay for 16 hours of labor? Not really complaining about fast and correct work, just something else to ask them when you get an estimate.
Unfortunately, this was our 3rd and last time, using...
Read moreI would give zero stars, if possible. Hired this company to install hardware in my brand new cabinets. They did not measure/Mark the center of the drawers prior to drilling. The holes in the cabinets were not even spaced in the same locations on the cabinets. I originally asked for pulls and knobs, but Freddy told me pulls were not an option that they offer. Settled for just knobs. Freddy came back from the store with 20 of 1 type of knob and 1 knob completely different. He told me that I can spend my own time returning the wrong knob, because he accidentally grabbed the wrong 1 in the store. I have him his space, while he did his job, because I expected him to know what he was doing. Unfortunately, I don't think he ever even used a tape measure. When I called to complain, the receptionist was rude to me. The company then called me back later in the day and screamed at me. I repeAtedly told them that I didn't want to argue, I just want my brand new cabinets fixed. Finally, I asked what is the point of this conversation, to yell at me. The reply I received was, "yes, you complained to us, so now we are calling to yell at you. We wanted to record your version of the story in case you sued us." This was the first time they informed me during the conversation that it was being recorded. Pa is a 2 consent state for voice recording. Meaning that it was illegal for them to record me, without my knowledge, but I'm very glad they did. I'm sure the recording clearly shows how unprofessional they are....
