Really delicious and fresh food! I can only recommend Hoolala based on ordering take-out, but I can’t imagine that the food tastes any less good had I dined in. I did pick up my order in person, and observed that it is a “self service“ type place, where you place your order (on a machine similar to those found in McDonald’s), you seat yourself, etc. Word to the Wise! Do not bring or expect to pay with cash. They do not accept cash! They do accept every form of electronic payment as far as I can see. The food itself was top-notch, the chicken Ramen was fresh, the flavors outstanding, and not at all too salty. The chicken was super tender as well! If you haven’t ordered this type of dish to-go before, you will appreciate the way in which your Ramen comes packaged! (Hi-Pot in Bethlehem does the same thing, but for my money, I’m choosing Hoolala every time). Hi-Pot is also a good pick, but their flavor just doesn’t compare. I also had edamame, which was also wonderful and fresh. Cooked perfectly. I had a strawberry bubble tea, also very good. (Although Tokyo Sushi makes them best IMO). The restaurant as a whole is super clean and nicely (newly) renovated. The sink in the ladies room alone is worth checking out! I sincerely mean when I say I hope only great success for this restaurant. They are in a spot that has not had success historically when it comes to restaurants. I think Papa Johns holds the record. It’s not easy to find necessarily, as it’s tucked between the Dollar Store and Cancun. But it’s worth the trip, trust me! It beats the heck out of Mister Lee’s in the Easton Market, and you don’t have to waste half an hour looking for parking at Hoolala’s either. I only wish I had checked this place out sooner, but honestly at a glance I had previously thought it to be a Hookah lounge, lol! But seriously, definitely five stars in...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place but after spending the rest of my day running to the bathroom I won’t be back. Both my wife and myself ordered the chicken Ramen. My wife is allergic to fish so we make sure to read all ingredients. When the ramen came out it had seaweed and fish cakes in the it. I brought my wife’s bowl up to the counter and let them know these two ingredients should not be in there and that my wife is allergic fish. They tried telling me that this is how it is made and how it is supposed to be so I got the menu and showed them that the ingredients do not list any seafood items. After researching my claim and calling 3 other people over to read the menu they finally reluctantly took my wife’s food back to remake it. I sat down and took one bite of my broth and immediately knew this is instant broth. The same as using bullion to make chicken soup with no actual chicken. The hard boiled egg was black on the out slide so obviously I didn’t eat it. I asked for a glass of water they told me that they don’t have tap water, they only have water to purchase. This place is pathetic. Don’t waste...
Read moreI had high hopes for this place... But it was not to be. The restaurant itself was nice and the staff was friendly. You place your order at the counfer and then they will bring the food to your table. They also have a digital ordering kiosk as well which I would have tried if it was busy.
We ordered the milk teas which were excellent. I had the matcha with the lychee jelly and my partner had the thai milk tea with the tapioca. I would come back for the drink. We not ordered the Tonkatsu ramen - I did the pork belly and he did the chicken. The meats on both were good quality and tasted good. Based on the chicken we would come back for the Korean fried chicken. Let's get to the ramen though... The broth was just OK - it was not anything I would crave or rave about. It felt like it was lacking something to boost it flavor wise. The noodles were again OK, there was no spring or bounce or chewiness to them. I was excited to try the ramen here but it just wasn't what I was hoping. I would Def come back to try the...
