My wife and I saw reviews and decided to try out this place for dinner last night.
Very colorful place, in my opinion. Could use some stuff hanging from the ceiling to fill it out, just an observation, they do not have a bar yet, however, it is planned.
My wife got the crab burritos, and they were huge, and she said they were delicious, she now has a desire to have more, even though she only ate one and brought the other one home.
I had the fajitas, they offer a wide selection, asking the waitress who was terrific. By the way, I wanted to get steak and shrimp, so she recommended the chicken steak and shrimp fajitas and she would have them remove the chicken.
Now normally you would figure that by removing one item from the dish they would just do that, however, they went ahead and they added more shrimp and more steak to round out the dish for my lack of chicken.
I was very surprised at how much shrimp I actually got for the substitution, at some places. You're lucky enough to get six pieces of shrimp on the platter, I had more like 13 to 15, they're of regular size but you get my point. I was very surprised at how much I received.
The guacamole was terrific as well. Everything was nice and fresh.
All in all it was an enjoyable dinner, and I can see why others have given it favorable reviews, and now...
Read moreI came here for lunch and ordered the Grande Special. The menu says it comes with one of each - Chalupa, Chile Relleno, Enchilada, Beef Taco and a Burrito. I received a tostada, 1/2 of a chile relleno, 2 enchiladas and a beef taco. I should have said something when the waitress placed the plates in front of me, but I didn't because everything still looked good. After reading some of the comments I've realized they are serving people tostadas and calling them chalupas and there is basically no difference between their enchiladas and burritos. This is not ok. Either they don't think people will notice or their recipes are different from what I'm used to at Mexican restaurants. Despite all of this the food was good. The complimentary chips n salsa they serve starts the meal off just right. The service was just ok. I say this because the server never checked back with me after delivering my meal. I had to actually get up and find her to get to-go boxes and my check. The place is decorated beautifully with lots of colors and even Philadelphia Eagles decor which is great to see. Even though I enjoyed my food I'm not sure I will be back. I think I'll stick with the Mexican restaurant I usually go to, El Super Taco. They give you what you ordered, not what they want...
Read more$2 for extra hot sauce leaves them a 2 star review. We went to their other location, and it was amazing. I was anticipating the same from this location. The menu is similar and has a lot of options. This location did not offer drinks. We got the guacamole and chips. It was not too spicy for the kids. We got 2 kids' meals with cheese quesidillas and enchiladas. For the enchiladas, they made them too spicy for kids. The cheese quesidillas were as expected. Sadly, the winner for the kids was the side of rice. I got the chicken chilaquiles. We were warned that they weren't made spicy, but they could give us hot sauce. Typically, they don't charge you extra for that, but I feel like this place should alert you to the charges. Now the chips were way too soggy. It barely had cheese and the shredded chicken lacked much flavor. We also ordered the vegetable chimichanga with spinach. These were also pretty mild in flavor. The spinach seemed fresh and the sauce it came with was ok. The ambiance is similar to its sister location. It's got these cool tables with a cancun or local Philly theme. The service was fast and nice but I was really disappointed...
