If you are an Eagles fan then - yeh - ya gotta go; and if you're not a fan but are in the area, I suggest you still do the Standing on the Corner Park touristy thing and take time to learn more about and support Winslow, AZ. My visit to The Eagles shrine was made special by the chance encounter with Ronald Adamson - the sculptor commissioned years ago to make the Glenn Frey bronze statue. Mr. Adamson still drives down to Winslow occasionally to mix and mingle with the Corner Park visitors (yes: photo opp's), and to spur support for the Foundation and town. So - who knows: his health enduring, Adamson might be there when you visit. From the Standing on the Corner Park to the opposite corners' stores and other numerous business signs, "Take It Easy" is obviously Winslow's town motto, friendly advice, spiritual practice, and apparently the law.... Be sure to go the town Visitor Center to see the original Navajo sheep wool trading post, learn some real history, and if you need to (like I did....) they may let you boondock one night in their parking lot (shared with the Public Library - just note adjacent 24/7 railroad operations). So go to Winslow, AZ. The Eagles did (or at least Glenn Frey did....), and look how much appreciation they got!

For those of you old enough to have been influenced by songs from the rock group The Eagles, you will love the homage the town of Winslow Arizona has paid to the Eagles ' song that made them famous. "Take it Easy" is a feel good song that was very popular during the 1970s. Aside from the bronze statues of some members of the band, and the props used to complete the "corner", the nearby souvenir stores have an extensive variety of postcards, magnets, shot glasses, etc.of all things Arizona. Definitely a fun stop to make. I'm glad I went!

Standin' On A Corner Park is a sweet tribute to the Eagles song Take It Easy. All the details are there, including a girl in a flatbed Ford, some sweet love in the second floor window, an eagle on a window sill, and statues of Glenn Frye and Jackson Browne. There are several stores that sell memorabilia for Route 66, the song, the Eagles, and other kitsch. It's a fun stop on your way across Arizona.
