If you are an Eagles fan then - yeh - ya gotta go; and if you're not a fan but are in the area, I suggest you still do the Standing on the Corner Park touristy thing and take time to learn more about and support Winslow, AZ. My visit to The Eagles shrine was made special by the chance encounter with Ronald Adamson - the sculptor commissioned years ago to make the Glenn Frey bronze statue. Mr. Adamson still drives down to Winslow occasionally to mix and mingle with the Corner Park visitors (yes: photo opp's), and to spur support for the Foundation and town. So - who knows: his health enduring, Adamson might be there when you visit. From the Standing on the Corner Park to the opposite corners' stores and other numerous business signs, "Take It Easy" is obviously Winslow's town motto, friendly advice, spiritual practice, and apparently the law.... Be sure to go the town Visitor Center to see the original Navajo sheep wool trading post, learn some real history, and if you need to (like I did....) they may let you boondock one night in their parking lot (shared with the Public Library - just note adjacent 24/7 railroad operations).
