La Aloma Apartments — Attraction in Winter Park

Day two of signing my lease and I have yet to be able to move in. I mean sure these are old units so I did not set my expectations too high. Upon walking in I was hit with a humid stale air, unit did not smell nor appear to have been cleaned for a new move in as there is visible dirt in carpets and dirt stains on the kitchen floor. There are no microwaves ! And no ice maker for the fridge which hey I can work with that. Window sill in back room next to the master appears to have fuzzy mold. AC behind bedroom window knocks!! I mean no wonder they don’t allow you to view a unit until move in day. Office staff is nice and appears attentive to emails however , I was advised that pest control was coming today and my unit would be treated . Ac appears to not be cooling correctly which also was told would be addressed and has not been. BUT WAIT ! It gets worst. Rodent droppings underneath kitchen sink ! I was told there were no complaints of previous rodents (lucky me I guess) .. this is the reason pest control was to come by today but did not. I go by tonight to clean up my unit since clearly it was not and find MORE droppings in the same area. I do have three small children and this is not ok. Thank god my company offers legal services . What apartment doesn’t supply you with a copy of the lease upon completion ? I should have noticed the red flags but I did not and now I am stuck in a unit that is not safe for my children. If this is not rectified and addressed immediately I will be going to the health department, legal team and/or the news so that no one else is blindsided in this way! I will be coming back daily to provide updated details! Please if you are looking to rent here RECONSIDER all of this and we are only on day 2.

Id like to come back and first say all of my issues were addressed very quickly. The office has been nothing but helpful and responsive and living here has been nothing but peaceful. No loud neighbors, everyone keeps to them self and...

My biggest regret is moving here. It feels like maintenance will not show up unless you threaten with a lawsuit or you warn them you’re going to call the authorities. You constantly have to harass the office to get anything done, and although they’re nice, it doesn’t make up for how awful the maintenance team is.

Our hot water and AC were out for weeks. (It mightve been over a month but I don’t recall since this was a while ago) I’m not exaggerating either.

They bumped rent up 15% in one year despite the building being old, broken down, and poorly maintained. Laundry machines are mostly broken and ineffective and there’s never enough parking. I work during late/early hours and as a small young woman, it’s terrifying to have to walk this close to semoran and just hope I don’t get jumped because I had to park my car several minutes from my apartment.

EDIT: forgot to add that there’s no water pressure. The outdoor AC units are extremely loud. Smoke detectors are also broken, but at least we have one working one. I’m still struggling to get things fixed from a year and a half ago.

EDIT2: maintenance won’t fix electrical issues (surges destroying lightbulbs) and we also lost all of our food because they wouldn’t fix our fridge. Life is only getting worse here as...

THE COMMENTS WITH 5 STARS ARE OBVIOUSLY FAKE, I WOULD GIVE THEM 0 STARS AS WELL AS ONE OF THE OTHER REVIEWERS DID IF I COULD, WHICH WOULD BRING THEIR RATING DOWN TO 2.72 EVEN WITH THEIR FAKE 5 STAR COMMENTS. THEY TAKE FOREVER TO FIX THINGS!!! A/C IS BROKEN LIKE ONCE A WEEK, I HAVE HAD MOLD APPEAR OUT OF NOWHERE AND THEY TOOK ALMOST 2 MONTHS TO REPLACE ONE SMALL PART OF THE WALL, THE CEILING IN MY APARTMENT IS FALLING IN, I TOLD THEM, THEY CAME BY 1 TIME AND HAVE NOT RETURNED IT'S STILL FALLING INTO THE TUB. NO SCREENS IN THE WINDOWS BUT HALF OF THE WINDOWS YOU CAN'T EVEN OPEN ANYWAY, TOLD THEM ABOUT THIS SEVERAL TIMES AND NOTHING EVER HAPPENED, THEY FALSELY ACCUSED ME OF SELLING DRUGS WHILE MY NEIGHBORS SAT ON OUR BACK PORCH SMOKING WEED AND ALSO A LOT OF OTHER CRIME THAT GOES ON IN THAT AREA. I'VE HAD SOMEONE STEAL GAS OUT OF MY TRUCK, SOMEONE HAS TRIED TO BREAK IN, SOMEONE STOLE OUR DOOR KNOCKER, THE PEOPLE IN THE OFFICE ARE VERY FAKE, SMILE IN YOUR FACE AND THEN TURN AROUND AND PUT A NOTICE ON YOUR DOOR THE SAME DAY FOR SOMETHING YOU DIDN'T EVEN DO. BEEN BLAMED MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THINGS I WASN'T EVEN AWARE OF. DIDN'T ALLOW MY FRIENDS TO COME OVER ON A REGULAR BASIS WITHOUT THEM TRYING TO SAY SOME ONE ELSE WAS LIVING THERE....
