The church easily deserves 5 stars...however, some of it's members 0. Today I visited the church and sat in a section that has a large curtain drawn and chairs for overflow. If you're facing the TV's on the wall I sat in the back far right corner seat on the end of the 2nd row. Here's the irony...todays message was "DISTRACTIONS" and Sammer did a great job talking about how things can distract us from our priorities in life. Well, as the sermon began the lady sitting directly behind me wearing the Covid mask, the lady in ragged jeans sitting directly to my left in the brown leather jacket with long dark hair, the guy sitting 2 seats to her left in the white camo baseball cap, the lady sitting directly in front of me and the guy sitting 2 seats down to her left wearing glasses...you are insanely RUDE!!! Mind you, these weren't kids...but all adults ranging from 40-mid 50's!!! All of you sat there tapping, and clicking on your phones from the time the sermon started until it ended! All I could hear were pings, ticks, tings, clicks, etc...while trying not to be DISTRACTED and listen to a msg about "Distractions"!!! Seriously...what the heck?!?! I wish a service msg would be put up before the sermon begins like when you go to a movie theatre asking people to please put their phones down before the movie starts. I almost said something to all of them! I could not believe it!!! Other than that...the church...

We visited from Detroit with our 3 kids, who ended up skipping the kid’s program because of the unwelcoming vibe. Our 9/10 year olds wanted to go into the 4th grade group together but were denied and told they’d have to go to the 3rd grade room (We homeschool, so they don’t have assigned grades). Felt like a demotion to them, being that our home church assignment had them in a 4th/5th grade setting. We tried clarifying several times before we just took them into the big service. I just can’t imagine missing an opportunity to share Jesus with kids who want to feel comfortable in a new environment together.
Was hoping to get a coffee before the service and was shocked this isn’t something they offer. Seems like a missed opportunity for community and connection.
April’s message was beautiful, but watching a video as a newcomer was a huge bummer.

I've been an active member of Woodstock City Church since 2005.
I couldn't be more grateful for this church. My kids have grown up in this church. My marriage has grown stronger from what we have learned from the Sunday messages to sharing life through small group where we met many lifelong friends.
What has surprised me most is how much I love volunteering. Not just because I get to create community with other volunteers and serve others but because of what it does my soul. Volunteering makes me happy and gives me a feeling of being meaningful to others. It does good for my soul. 😇
Thank you Eddie Johnson for starting this church. Thank you to my good friends Steve Mazac, Gavin Adams and Samer Massad for leading, loving and growing my home church so well.
Thank you to the entire staff, you have created an irresistible church environment where my kids feel in love with God and Jesus. I will be...
