For starters the location is not bad because it's by gas stations and it's by a Starbucks. Also it's by other frequent stores like Walmart and dollar tree which helps out a lot. The expressway is a big help too. I was finally able to get a room since this place is usually sold out. The rooms so far are decent. Some of the lights in the King rooms don't work and the wiring from the outlets are not consistently working. The mirrors are dirty on the bedroom side which aren't wiped at all for some reason. The bathroom mirror gets wiped but the mirrors around the bedroom and the ceiling aren't wiped and I have been tempted to wipe them down but I didn't bring a window cleaner with me. I also forgot that for every new customer it is a $50 deposit down which I think it is very high for a motel in my opinion. I can understand $25-$30 but not $50 in my personal opinion. The smoking rooms are $5 extra then the regular rooms. Another thing is that I do feel that King rooms should have BIGGER TOWELS. Not only for the jacuzzi rooms that are $180 & up. When I called in the afternoon, there was a nice professional man named Raj who was able to help me out and break everything down for me clearly. Now, I am not a complicated customer I do pay attention to details. In my room downstairs, there was not only small towels but I was missing the bath mat towel, and there was some garbage on the side of the microwave that was left there that wasn't picked up. I didn't make a complaint about it because I felt that the housekeeper was just rushing and wanting to get her work done. I only paid for two days here at the motel, and I APPRECIATE RAJ GIVING ME THE 2 BIG GRAY TOWELS and wanting to make a customer smile which he did. The person that works in the morning is very rude and his energy is negative and he lied to me saying that they don't give those out. They do give those towels out but only to the customers who pay for the Jacuzzi. I don't think it is a lot of me to ask for 2 bigger gray towels only especially when I am a plus size woman and my man is like a mini football player size so he needs to be taken care of as well. The one worker man that helps out with the house keeper always looks angry and negative like he doesn't want to be there. There is just a lot of negative faces around the area and people looking miserable from what I observe so far. Now I wasn't trying to do a review like this, but the person in the morning urged me to do this. The room I was in was overall decent and I do appreciate that the house cleaning did happen in the morning when I called and asked for it. That service was wonderful, I just wished that the house keeper would have just changed the gray towels when she seen them even though I didn't have a Jacuzzi room. I would have done that if I was her and my man who has been here before many times told me that she would have changed it but he was wrong for sure and I told him what happened. I don't want to add another day here because of that rude man in the morning telling me no. I am not a complicated customer and I don't cause any issues. I often go to different motels and I just want the best deal for me and especially if I am paying a reasonable fair price I should be able to. I am asking nicely and being respectful as well which shocked me. Hopefully the owner reads this message and understands that it's okay to give a big towels for king rooms with smoking and for customers who are plus size. Be more inclusive and understanding Mr. Owner. Tell the man in the morning to have better customer service skills and not be so negative and not looking so angry that he is going to hurt someone. One more thing I don't like is that you can't back in there you have to drive in. I prefer to back in so I can pull out easily. I understand if cars are gassy but my toyota Camry isn't going to blow out gas like that especially when I am not turning on the heater. Thank you for reading my...
Read moreFirst off the man who was working the front office this one day refused to let me and my fiance Ed get a room for no reason to. We called to ask if they had a room available for us and they told us that they had one available and we said we were on our way there so we got to the motel, remind you that we didn't drive only 5 minutes or 2 blocks away from the place to get there it was pretty much about a 15 minute drive, then we go inside and the guy tells us that he no longer has a room for us and he was not going to have any available for the rest of the day and night etc. So we were in my car and I decided to call the office to see what the problem was, the guy says Have you ever been here before? I said yes and he said Do I have a valid ID and is it on file? I said yes I do and yes you should have record of my ID and car and us staying here. Then he said we can come back and he tried to say that I had to pay an extra $20 now and I got no reason for why he was trying to do that. It came down to were I was not paying him extra because he tried to bully me or he was not giving us the room. That's horrible business and I am not going to recommend this place because of how I...
Read moreI spent 6 weeks in Chicago Ridge Illinois because I had a parent in Hospice in the area. It was a stressful time. I was working from my laptop and shuttling to the nursing home. The Blue Star Motel helped lessen my burden. The rooms are snug but clean and comfortable. The staff is unfailingly polite and helpful. The cost for a longer term stay is surprisingly affordable. The neighborhood itself is diverse in the best sense of the term. There is a Pete's Fresh across the street and a city-class Italian spot a 10 minute walk away. If you are attending an event in Tinley Park or need to be close to the Midway area, I highly recommend this motel. You would even save money on the rate if you were required to travel regularly to the loop -- the train station is a 5-10 minute walk. The location, the neighborhood and the service make this spot a...
