I used to work in this mall for 7 months. I understand customer service because I did it and I also like to feel welcome at a store. This was not the case at this FYE location. My fiance and I both have been having financial struggles lately and decided to sell a few things. We saw that FYE takes movies/cds/games and gives you cash or store credit. We had a lot of movies so we thought it would help us out greatly and give us a little more room in our room. We came into the store and immediately felt like no one wanted to help us. Yes what we had was a big undertaking but it shouldn't matter. That's what FYE offers, and they should damn well be happy enough to do it. But now they lost two customers. I guess the guy who took care of us was a manager of some sort. But he was utterly rude and we were pleasant as can be no matter how rude he got. He continued to grunt and groan and be snappy with us asking if that was all the movies. The website said they take games back, even original xbox and he said they don't. We ended up leaving with more than we thought we would get, and left with still quite a bit. None the less the experience was awful and I'm never returning again. This mall is going down and I won't be sad to see it go when it does. On to...
Read moreThe manager at this establishment (some dude with brown hair and a brown beard) was a complete jerk to me after I kindly declined his first request for some subscription/membership bs that I wasn't interested in. I was merely purchasing at most, $10 total from that store, and I haven't been there in probably 5 years or more prior to this evening. The second time he insisted on me pursuing this membership, I said that I really wasn't interested. He got angry and started throwing the items I was purchasing on the counter after scanning them. I then politely asked if I could get all one dollar bills instead of a $5 for change, and he says, "it's under $5 anyways, so I would be giving you one dollar bills as it is", very rudely (and let's note that my bill was $5.58 so it's actually MORE than $5.00, but excellent job on proving why you are working as a store manager at 45 years old at FYE at a dying mall). Let's also mention that the store smells like an entire colony of cats moved in over the summer and peed all over the carpet in the store, it was HORRENDOUS. I remember now why it took me 5 years to return, and I certainly won't be...
Read moreI randomly shopped here back in December to buy my fiancé a shirt. At checkout, the employee offered me 10% off if I gave my email. I declined and said, “I don’t shop here regularly,” but he followed up saying, “It’s just for emails, there’s no fee, no charges.” I even asked, “Are you sure?” and he repeated several times that there would be no charges -just email signup.
Fast forward to last night, I’m reviewing my bank statements and discover they’ve been charging me $12 a month ever since. I NEVER gave authorization for them to charge my card. I didn’t sign up for a subscription, and I certainly didn’t agree to recurring fees.
This is completely deceptive and fraudulent. That employee misled me, and now I’ve been charged for months for something I didn’t knowingly agree to. I called customer service to cancel and plan to file a complaint with the BBB and possibly the FTC as well.
Be very careful if you shop here — don’t give them your email or agree to anything unless you want surprise charges later. I also found hundreds of similar stories to mine online. So this is normal practice for...
