We are staying in building 2 on the second floor. The room is basically a small suite. Queen size bed with good storage. The sofa is supposed to be a second bed. We didn’t check but as a sofa it has seen better days. Heating and cooling are not great but are adequate. One plus is that if the weather is nice the windows and the door to the deck can opened for a cross breeze. Microwave toaster fridge and coffee pot. No stove or oven. Bathroom is a tub/shower that has been updated. There are plates and utensils for four. There is beach access close by. The unit was very clean and stocked with the necessities. The linens are okay. They provide fresh towels each day and remove the trash. The location is convenient to many restaurants and stores but only by vehicle. The resort is a little dated but it adds to the charm. There is not an elevator on the property and the access to the second floor is a bit odd by going up inside stairs but it is okay other than lugging suitcases. The area is quiet but there is a little bit of mechanical noise. Maybe because there are no other sounds around. The staff is very nice and helpful. The grounds are kept well. Bottom line we would stay here again if we are in the area. This is our first time...
Read moreThe staff at Colonial Acres are NOT customer friendly. They never answer the phone. When they did return our call after many messages it was the next day. The phone in our room was broken. No extra blankets. The rooms are clean, beds not very comfortable. My cousin has a timeshare there and it took 2 months and many phone calls to book a week off season. Trish the manager is always “in a meeting” and unavailable. The only reason she answered my 3rd phone call, when we locked ourselves out of the room, is because she did not recognize my phone number. This was after I called her three times consecutively. We were worried we would be locked out of the room all night. My cousin (time share owner) called her and she never returned...
Read moreRented from someone who owns the timeshare. This is a small unit on the second floor stating it sleeps four. The bedroom with queen bed was nice and the bed was very comfortable. If you use the pull out couch, there is no room to move around, you have to move furniture to make room. The pull out couch was uncomfortable, and could not be slept on. I asked for mattress topper, and after talking to three different people, I received one and it was a little better. The wooden porch rail near my end unit was broken and my grandkids could have easily fallen over. I almost fell over while shaking out my towel. The maintenance...
