CTown Supermarkets — Attraction in York

This super market is conveniently close to all downtown patrons of York City and does ALOT of business. It’s floor plan is as simple as they come so no getting lost. The staff is usually courteous, though the deli is always open at strange times; going in the morning is recommended. Their prices are that of an only supermarket within a few miles; high. They do have a ton of fresh produce and they bake their signature bread by the dozens. If you are planning to use a credit card be sure that you either know the pin, or that your ID matches the card; they WILL NOT serve you otherwise. The reason for the three stars is for the prices. They know that they are those closest market to downtown so they jack up prices. If you can get to walmart to shop, do it, you will save tons of cash and come out with much more than this place. If I could give zero stars I would have. I live right down the street, and needed a few things and decided to go there since it was so close, HORRIBLE idea. We bought a small pack of pork chops (not past the sell by date) Strawberries, and yogurt (also within the sell by date) along with a few other things. My husband opened the pork chops and the smell of rotting meat was overwhelming, the strawberries were full of mold throughout the middle; where you can’t see from looking around the edges, and the yogurt was completely curdled and smelled of spoiled milk. And the prices were outrageous. When my husband took the merchandise back to the store to get a refund, there were two (2) other bags with the same pork chops sitting on the customer service counter. They didn’t care that they were selling spoiled/rotten food, and made it seem as though we were the hassle. 0/10....

Literally the worst small grocery store I've ever been to. Everything is way overpriced. I went in with a stroller a year or two ago my child was sleeping and I get to the register to pay for my items and I was literally accosted and my stroller was ripped through and yanking out of my hands quite violently because they suspected me for stealing. Just because I had a stroller for my child. they found nothing on me and told me that I could continue with my transaction and I just left the store and have refused to shop here since I will literally go without things to not have to shop here. Especially if you are a person of color they follow you around the store and act like you are only there to steal stuff...
